Us Made, Long Frame and under $800? Thats gonna be a tough Call in the New Department.. Basically here are your options

Weaver, IMO the Best Jack Ever Made..

Hw93657

Milwaukee makes a 4 ton, But its not a Long frame but i believe it fits your price range.

Ive seen the HW93657 listed on sale occasionally for Under a Grand, The Milwaukee and Weaver are pretty much set on there prices. The Weaver includes Free Shipping at that price also. If your looking for a Used Jack you should be able to find one fairly certain, Check with your Local Hydraulic shops.

This Jack is a Import, Its been used for Years in Many different Colors, Ive Rebuilt Many them and they are fairly solid IMO. Similar to the Weaver they have a very simple Hydraulic Design (Not the quick lift version) that is Very efficient. I believe HF used to offer a jack very similar to this design in the Past, Im not sure if they still do or not. If you could save the Coin, The Weaver is the Cream of the Crop, Ive Personally witnessed these jacks come into the shop with 50 years of service on them.

Since you had considered craptacular I am almost with that for a couple reasons. First I have seen the orage thing work well for good long time, a bud had one in small shop they worked like a rented mule, up and down like a yo-yo and it was 225 at the time. I understand Hiball, he has acess to parts etc, starts with good units likely etc but finding some ole rusted POS is no way to start, more work than they are worth for the avg guy. If a guy can wear out an orange one at that price its time for a new one, can get 5 of them if need be.

Same with bottle jacks, while Hein Warner may be a star a seal kit cost more than a new import, I have several 40$ ones, when they give it up they return to China in the scrap steel, done deal.

Yes Sir... Ive Sold 100's of 4 Ton Long Frame Jacks over the Years, Everyone came with a Warranty and Complete Rebuild. Id venture to say out of the 100 i sold i had 200 that weren't fixing, Or i had to cabbabe a piece off this one to make another one work etc.. These Big Hunks of Iron are often Mistreated and while im not gonna say everything on the Used market is Junk.. There is alot of Costs associated with bringing one back to a Useable life that isnt always obvious to the Average Person and Not everyone has the Skillset/Tools to rebuild one Properly. I try to be Honest with everyone here and Abroad, If i guy comes to me asking to spend $800 bucks, He Obviously doesnt want some Junk... that has to be rebuilt. If the same guy says he has $200 to spend? Different story... BTW I was in the HF store today and i dont think they market that Long frame Jack anymore, it can be found in other flavors but i didnt see one in the store or Online.

The one I saw was really impressive in its own right especially considering the cost. Seems something finally did go wrong with it but as I recall the helper kept topping it out or doing something the owner told him not to do. The thing was a daily used tool for like 15 yrs.
Someone gave me this Linc, free was about the right price, I don't remember what I had in to it plus the time but I was on a terror at one time fixing them all up, ended up with a bigger parts basket than finished units. There was a reason they stop working.

Whoops, thought I had a file pic of the 10 ton, I don't use it often, seems I bought a piston and some seals, had to make u joint maybe and never did get the air assist working, I think the parts guy tired of me,,, maybe it way Hiball,,, ha, No, its in my book a guy named Bob from Grand Rapids area.

I do have a light Lincoln I like, I reman it and it works fine and an Auto Specialties from St Johns I think, it was in so so condition, nice jack but could use a new piston as I remember. I have a hoist, use about 1 floor jack anymore. Super useful rigging tool for many applications, not just cars.

Sberry, Id definitely fix that 10 ton Air/over up.. Its worth some Coin. The Air Portion is Fairly Simple, The Things that Wear are the Air Piston Seal, Rod Seal and the Seals where it enters the Unit, Sometimes there a Bear to Prime but if everything else is good there reliable. Im a Fan of those Jacks in all Flavors but there is alot going on, and Everything has to work correctly for the Jack to function. This is where Weaver Jacks Shine.. No they dont have a Handle assisted Quick Lift, But they do offer a foot pump that is fairly quick from rest to Load and They Operate off of 1 Valve, Not 4 with all those Seats/Springs/Weights.

I did paint the thing up, its been long enough dont remember what I have for it yet and dont, it does work. If this forum had been handy when i did it the air might be working. Only reason I dont repair it is use, its rather rare when I need it, a few pumps are not that big a deal. If I was regular driver it would make a difference.

Excellent responses all. Hiball, thanks for the leads. Will check local hydraulic shops but not expecting much. Omega looks interesting. This jack will not be used often, but my last HF jack bent its frame during a lift and I am wary.
