It is a shame that there aren't many real "electronics" stores around any more. I can recall walking into the local electronics store, buying test lead wire off a reel, buying the appropriate banana plugs for my Triplett meter, and selecting the test probes with the kind of ends I wanted, plus slip-on alligator clips, all from a rack of component parts.
Nowadays, I can't even find the fuse I need for my A/C control, because all that exists anymore are Radio Shack stores, and they sell only very common stuff.
