Craftsman Pro and Snap On are almost identical. Only difference is the box end is slightly larger diameter and the open end is slightly fatter on the Craftsman Pro.

I have both and the Snap On is barely nicer. If you are into saving money, the Craftsman Pro set can be had for under $50.

It appear Craftsman has already discontinued the Professional series long pattern wrenches. The recent catalog I have only lists the combined 26-piece SAE and metric set (PN 009-34951). Does anyone know if Sears is still selling this wrench series separately (i.e. (2) 13-piece kits) and if so, what the part numbers are? An online search only turned up the Gearwrench long pattern combo wrench set, so that might be the only brand of long pattern wrenches Sears distributes now. Thanks!

If you can find the USA Craftsman Pro it's the best bang for the buck. They truly are tool truck quality at a fraction of the price

The extra long combos I have are the first generation post Bonney Matco wrenches. I don't have a full set of those, though. I would love a set of Cornwell or Mac extra longs, though. Both are very nice. I wish Wright would come out with extra long combos. I have been asking them for years, but they keep telling me maybe in the future.

The Craftsman Pro wrenches aren't bad. They do spread more when you really put out on the open end compared to my Bonney, Matco, Mac, or SO wrenches. It's not bad, but you can tell a difference when you have to break things loose with the open end. I've never noticed a real difference with the box end. They are good for general use, though.

Are the SK wrenches not considerd long pattern? I got a set in metric and they are really nice, beefier than my snapons and alot cheaper.

My local Sears had one 13 pc set of the METRIC USA Craftsman Professionals left but they sold out the SAE USA Craftsman Professional wrench sets. I noticed they still had everything in individual stock, so I asked if they would price match the $179 online pricing for both the SAE and METRIC Professional long pattern wrenches (26 pc), and when they agreed, I just pulled the 13 standard wrenches off the wall :). Considering my options, I feel like I got a good value. Thanks for the input. I'm glad I was able to pick these up before it was too late. If anyone else is on the fence, it might be worth a trip by your local Sears to help you decide...

If you're interested in a 13 piece SAE USA made Craftsman Professional set but your Sears doesn't have any, let me know. I should be able to get you a set for about $95 shipped.
