Well as I not so gracefully age, I am turning into a true "tool polisher", buying tools just "because". Several years ago I bought a second set of Craftsman SAE combination wrenches with 6 point box end. I can't say that the 6 point box end has really "saved my bacon" but I like the idea of having 2 of the same size wrench.
Now I find myself "lusting" for some long pattern, double box end metric wrenches. I am NOT going to spend a ton of money on them, which leaves me with a choice of Craftsman or HF. HF has no long pattern wrenches. Craftsman does have long pattern DBE, even in full polish (ooohhh, ahhhh
) but only 12 point. This will be a small set (8mm-16mm).
Should I just go with the 12 point ?
(Segue - I committed to 6 point sockets over 40 years ago. Best decision I ever made !)
