Does anyone make super long punches, like 18 inches or longer? Assuming they will be at least 3/4 n diameter or larger. Or is this something you have to fabricate yourself?

I've not see really long larger punches but never really looked as I had made some.

Truck tie rod/drag link works great, Cheap breaker bars/ratchets with the head cut off work well too. Some have also used the rod from shock absorber's.

Past about a foot long, I fabricate what I need as needed. Sometimes brass, sometimes steel, sometimes aluminum. It all depends on the need and reach required. I generally call them drifts. A large piece of stock can be turned on a lathe to make a stout drift all the way to the point where it may need to be smaller. The mass of a drift makes a big difference in it’s performance.

Maybe look for "line up" or "drift" punches. ?

At that size, knowing someone with a lathe could be you friend.

This is what I did. If you don't have a lathe (like I didn't), bar stock, hacksaw, and file will get you there pretty easily.

Lady foot bars may serve your purposes too. And they have other uses around the shop. Win/win

Any small tool and die shop can make whatever you want.Tell them the sizes and let them choose the steel and heat treat process. They wont be too hard on your wallet since they heat treat daily and have lots of drops of stuff often laying around. 4140 HT or W or O series bar stock used for pins and axles and stuff. Call a few up. I cut the shafts off car or truck shocks now and then for a decent piece of beater stick. Differential axles are tough too if you need BIG punches, drifts. They're more tough than hard so they spin down in a lathe without much trouble if you need tapers

What are you planning on doing with them, if you don't mind me asking.

A Woods rotary cutter has a pin and slide lock holding the blade on, as opposed to a bolt and nut like most . I need to be able to reach this clip from the back of the cutter, as there isn’t enough room using the access hole they give you. It’s never been off in six years, and it’s being tough to come off.

Round stock. I've also used hydraulic cylinder rams to drive out larger pins in conjunction with a sledge hammer; namely trailing arm pin/bushing replacement on a Case IH 3330.

I bought a few really long punches like that at a garage sale. Looks like they were previously crowbars that had the ends cut off and turned down to a taper on one. They are around 20-24" long and 3/4" hex

One more fan of the Snap On air hammer, was able to get at the lock from above with a long pin punch attachment. Took about 30 minutes of moving back and forth, but was able to get them off. Now, to drive the 1-1/2 pins out[emoji85] Going to try and find a piece of 2 inch brass stock to hit on

Vim makes brass & nylon tipped air hammer bits, Matco has some longer brass tipped bits as well (VIM OE, Matco exclusive).

Instead of brass, what about a piece of delrin/acetel? Might have more flex though.

dasco has some large ones. yea, yea, i know dasco doesn't get much love but i have never found them terrible. enderes, wilde, proto, mayhew, etc. may be better but i think they are still better than hf chinesium punches.

dasco 701 is 3/16 x 16, 702 is 5/16 x 18 and the the 705 is 3/8 x 21.

fleet farm has them on the shelf if you have one nearby.

Any of you have one of those Mini Doctor venom induction heaters? I need to heat around an 1-1/2 pin, not the pin itself. Would that tool work??

I have the full size mini ductor, with a "form a coil" coil it might work. A torch would be faster for sure.
