Does anybody make long extension swivel sockets in sae? I can find them in metric but not standard sizes.

Are these just more convenent than using an extension with a swivel socket or better maybe you loose less torque this way or safer or doesn’t fall out idk

To me it’s about access into tight spots. Both of these are 10MM but you can clearly see which one will let you get away with more. IMG_1929.jpeg

I would just like the convenience of a set. I looked into the Steelman set. They only offer a couple of SAE sizes. Not a full set. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Why would you need a full set of SAE swivels?
Why would you need SAE swivels?
Is there a use case/need or is this a tool OCD thing? -no judgement, just curious.

It's not as elegant or impact rated, but for a similar form factor you could use a locking extension with a chrome swivel.

Yes you're right. I thought of that and have done it but part of the question was did anybody make a set in SAE. I looked all over and couldn't find any. Gearwrench makes a nice set in metric and I couldn't believe they didn't make a standard set too. As long as KnurledNut found them which I appreciate I figured I might as well get them. Thanks to everyone who replied.

The reality is that inch sized fasteners went away 40 years ago on new cars. And the few old cars left with them tend to be show cars, and some guy that spent years searching for, and $$$ on the correct perfect bellhousing bolts for his 1970 Dodge Challenger isn't going to use an impact on them.

There's essentially no demand for inch sized tools in 2024 in comparison to metric, especially specialty ones like this.

If your buying sets of sae tools to match your metrics for ocd then don’t they need to be matching set to whatever metrics you already have?

I got ocd too and sometimes I think let me get the same set just in case and for alot of smaller tools like 1/4 drive the sae only comes in 12 point. And my metrics are 6 Point. So now my ocd wants me to buy sae but I can’t because my ocd won’t let me mix 12 and 6 point that way.

its snap on and vim tools specifically that there both making small 1/4 super shallow sockets but sae is only 12 pt option due to aeroplanes.
