I’m getting the hang of it, occasionally I manage to post multiple copies of same picture lol.
To be honest just gaging if there is any interest in the build I have undertaken.

I think it's interesting
I check out most builds to see if there are any new and interesting things I could make use of for myself. There is a TON of knowledge on this site and I appreciate the people that contribute to it !!!

now that I can see your foundation a lot better is their a reason you went with wood foundation? I see you have steel beam supports, but won't that wood rot out in 10-20 years? creosote or treated wood just seems to rot when you put dirt and water into the equation.
great work so far and if your plan is to only use the greenhouse or shed or garage for 10 years i'd say you are well on your way to success.

Thanks for the nice comments.
I used original hardwood railways sleepers all round which should be fine for many years. The inside face I lined with thick plastic sheeting and there are drains along the bottom of the front wall.
What you cannot see also is that I used gravel and ******** to keep the water away from the plastic.
In fact I added about 30 tons of ******** to get the level to where I needed and that makes it drain really well.

your pictures were thumbnails and now they are almost full size. I was just curious how you did it cause full size is much easier to scroll through a page and see, but I'm not a fan of using an online picture posting website and posting links.
I think GJ has a section where I can put pictures and then pull over full size pics and since you were having issues posting more than a couple at a time it seems like you solved that.

W4: one tip if you don't mind me saying this is you don't have to use the quote button if the member's post is in the last post or two. another way I eliminated threads from getting double quoted was to put in member's name so he and others would know to go back and look at his post. it really helps when you are eliminating double posts of huge pictures posts that used to fill up entire pages with only a couple remarks.

haven't seen a great view yet but I assume you have driveway access to this new garage/workshop.
Any plans on a guardrail for the two sides and back for fall protection? that drop off of the back and sides is quite far...

Drive and gates in the plan for this year as are steps to the bottom garden area, a patio and summerhouse (part of the negotiation for the garage lol)

Guard rails, not given that much thought just yet - but good idea.

is the framing galvanized steel or aluminum? is it a local company to you in the UK or was it shipped?
are you putting it up by yourself or with help and is it all just bolting it together?

It’s galvanised steel from a company called Steadmans based in Scotland.
All work carried out by myself with help from a really close friend....I’m a lazy office boy and he drives me hard - glad when he’s gone sometimes lol.
Only size not shown is length which is 6m.

Really nice and interesting build. I haven't noticed very many structures of this type, from the UK or Europe for that matter. Most are rebuilt structures or repurposed buildings. Looks like you did all your homework on preparing the site for the build! Thanks for sharing!
Yep, the decision was a long time in the making. As with most projects I had either the time or the money, never both.

Had to drop the sheet onto the scaffolding boards once marked. Then cut to size and then lifted back up for final figment...all made more fun with the windy weather.

I also am getting so heights are an issue where that didn't used to be the case and maybe cause my thinking is i'm not immortal anymore.

Heights are now a problem, I even bought a proper ‘industrial’ grade ladder to stop the ‘wobble’ factor....got about 6 feet up, stalled, wait 5mins for confidence to build, another step, another wait, repeat.....got to about 10 feet and that was it. Hands clamped to rungs, I’m not going anywhere...survival instinct has kicked in.
Progress is not in real time - playing catch up. Building kit delivered in June 2019.

W4: i'm not sure what kind of ladders are available for you to buy, but if you can get a couple LITTLE GIANT ladders one of their accessories is leg levelers and scaffolding so you can have a platform instead of a ladder that may or may not wobble.
looks like you have done a great job and even if it's finished now I (and we) are still enjoying the build.
when you get done can you maybe post any changes or thoughts you might have done different if you were to build another one?
I was thinking it was pretty nice conditions for your build for January cause guessing your weather now is wet and windy.

Put the foam seals around the concrete slab to seal between the sheets
Also a picture of completed door from the inside. The door was fantastic, slot the frame in the hole, wide the sides out and then bolt into position. An absolute doddle.
Next move on to gable with roller door - mark and cut all the sheets to size
Did the final sheet but don’t appear to have a picture lol

I dealt with a lot of slope and a fully wooded lot as well, stay patient and you'll get it done!
Thanks mate, I’m actually really enjoying doing this build. Making progress, taking pictures and reviewing my work at the end of the day (with a cold beer)- it’s only when you look back you realise how far you have come.
It takes time to do things right or right(ish) so not putting myself under the pressure of a deadline.
