Hi everyone.

I’m looking to organize some 1/2” impact sockets on a standard metal socket rail. The longest I can find is 17-19”.

Does anyone know of something longer?

Thanks!

I just cut socket rails to length as I need them. Man I will never understand the obsession :D

The "GRIP" mag bar is 24" I think THAT'S even better than clip rails and especially for larger dia. impacts

(Grip brand is a part of Tekton)

The freebie HF mag bars are 17" :eyecrazy:

36 sounds like a great one for me. 20 is too short I think.

Anyone know of any other rails roughly 36”?

Vim rail good?

I have the 16” and was able to fit my Sunex 1/2” SAE deepwells on the entire rail; 7/16”-1 1/4”. 14 sockets total. They do take up the whole rail, but I don’t ever take it out of my box. Super strong magnets, so strong that there’s a little key you need just to pull them up from your box or whatever metal surface they’re on. I can send you photos tomorrow if you want.

I use the Gearwrench & Carlyle rails, not sure on length off hand, but a complete set from 10mm to 36mm uses two rails.

That is a lot of weight for any rail to handle with out being mounted to something, deep sockets in particular.

The magnets on these rails are serious... that’s why you need the lift ring to pick it up, otherwise it’s a struggle

Contact Durston MFG- Vim Tools, they may have a 36" Magrail TL, I know they had some at one time.

Like I said... some seriously strong magnets. That rail ain’t moving unless you use the lift ring

yeh I wouldn't deep impacts all on one rail too much weight and silly shape .
I use rails but have between 8 and 15 a rail pending on size .
Don't like magnet rails, attracts too much junk .
plastic twist lock or detent ball pretty nice .
Have seen 2 clip rails riveted to a long alloy angle strip for deep sockets and was quite effective, angle added rigidity and extra support via longer depth edge for deeps rest against ...

Grip and Tekton are two separate companies, both located in West Michigan. No business affiliation between the two.

MIT is Tekton's parent company, but the tools labeled MIT are usually a lower line.
