I buy Scripto multi-packs at Costco for notalot. They're all mostly ****, but they've worked well enough for me, especially for the price. I don't look for a long term relationship with one, although TBH, I've had some for almost ten years now.

I haven't found any great ones, so I usually go to Ace Hardware and grab a 3 pack of their Bar-B-Q lights when they're on sale. One is bound to work later on!

During the apocalypse I have this old school lighting attachment for my 14 ounce propane cylinders. Works like a Zippo lighter, uses a flint.

OK guys.......1 year review. I bought a 2 pack of 'Torch Blue' lighters from the crackpipe section of your local Dollar General store. I got the thin stick ones........https://www.torchblueshop.com/products/item-number-021791-tb-thin-stick-torch-12-pieces-per-display?variant=41878088712388
I use them A LOT. Good news!.... I have nothing bad to say! These things are great! And they're refillable to boot. Both of mine are 2/3rds used up but I also bought some of their butane to refill. I'm already seeing some new versions of mine on their website so I sure hope they didn't change the build quality. So if you are sick-n-tired of POS lighters, try these. Mine look like this pic.

I buy the cheapest ones I can find at Walmart. They are less than $2 each. Have not had one "fail" before it ran out of juice.

Butane does not like cold. If it is below 35F, bring it inside for 10 minutes before using it.

We use Camco olympians at work to light water heaters and mobile home furnaces. They last for years in that application (refillable). They are expensive. They have 15” and 26” I think

To note

They are gas matches not a butane torch type flame.

I use creme brulee torches for lighting my grill and fireplace. you can find them without the 'safety' switch on them, so all you need to do is hit the button on the back and you have fire. Nice strong torch, and holds alot of fluid. also decent if you want to torch some creme brulee desserts . I have 2 of them (don't know what brand) and the oldest one is probably close to 10 years old, still works fine.

like this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XGM8K5M/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Introducing Der Funkmeister:

Works first time, every time!

I use these for my gas range at home (too cheap to use the pilot light) and for my campstoves. Salvaged flints from dead BIC lighters work perfectly and are longer than brand new flints for Zippos!

For butane stick lighters, I've found that the cheapest disposables work as well as if not better than the most expensive refillables. I once bought a Berzomatic $30 model that lasted about two months, while some of the cheap-*** ones I have are a year or more old, with lots of use.

I've bought "expensive" ones at close to $5 each and the dollar store variety. They all seem to be about the same. I figure on going through a couple of the cheap ones each year. I always keep at least two around, hoping at least one of them will work. I keep a box of long stick fireplace matches as a backup.

I gave up on the butane lighters for the grille. All seemed like a peace of S.

I went to this. Neck and flame is long enough to blast thru the grates and light the burners with ease.

That’s my go to for the Kettle Chimney.

i think I have two of the Costco packs up there in the BBQ cabinet where I keep my smoking wood and chimneys. Still prefer what ever ones I steal from her. Latest one is a Kingsford bright green one, just cause it’s bright green lol.
