Who has a pliers rack or other organizer that has some miles on?

I found a lot of users with new racks, so no long term of opening and closing drawers etc. There seems to have been a big buying frenzy about 6 years ago. Sooooooo........

Still like em? Find something better?

I'm moving out of a Mac in into some Lista's next month. I currently have this tray, maybe could use another one, no idea where I got it, maybe HF? I am open to the rack, or just about anything. I have about 3 weeks before I order my organization stuff.

Here's the current situation. I have about twice or maybe 3 times this amount scattered about if you include cutters/crimpers/strippers/hose pinch offs/snap ring pliers and speciality stuff.

Have had mine for a while, never found anything better. Bought some to cut down for my tool cart too, so have about 4 sets.
I do also have the Snap On rebranded plastic pliers rack, holds like 6 or 7....use that for my go to pliers in the top of the cart. I want to say Mechanics Timesaver makes them?

This one...

I made mine out of a spare wire shelf that was sitting in the garage. Took me less than the time to get the rack from Amazon and saved $25 which was surely used for more tools.

I made one of the home built ones with a piece of all-thread cut to the width of my drawer with tubing spacers and lengths of aluminum ruler cut for dividers. I like it a lot after a year or so. A little time consuming, but I’ve got about $12 in it, and it’s fully customizable.

I'm finishing up reorganizing my tool box. I too made a rack from extra wire shelf. I had to move down to a little deeper drawer than when they were all laid out but, it was a big space saver.

I went from this.

to this and even added a couple more pairs and some other tools into the drawer.

I made mine from a black wire CD rack I bought at a garage sale. Just used the angle grinder to cut it in half. Works great.

Bent wire baking cooling rack like seen above is what I have used.

I keep collecting pliers and have duplicates and triplicates of pliers I like, but in the end I tend to use the same 6-10 different ones at most. I just changed tool chests and took the opportunity to keep just the ones I actually *use* and offline store the rest in another drawer in bulk storage. It sure cleaned up the drawer really quick.

But ya know, those new pliers HF is pushing out sort of look halfway decent, and I just cleared out some space in the drawer, so..

I got the ernst ones off Amazon. Trimmed to fit the width of my drawers. Here's a pic of the main one. The remnant section I used in another drawer with my vise grips.

I like how it stacks them vertical. Before they were all stacked neatly but usually 2 or 3 high, so I was constantly digging to get to the pair I needed.

I've had these for four years. Made out of a wire closet/pantry shelf from Wal-Mart. Shelf costed 10 dollars and made 2 racks. One in the main box and one in my rolling service cart. No problems with them so far. I know this isn't really what you were asking about, but they're easy to make a cheap. I just put them in my vice and bent them at 90 degrees. I clamped the in with a 2x4 on each side to protect them and help bend them.

I cut up a wire dish drain/drying rack to make a plier rack for my box a couple of years ago. Still happy with it. Before putting them in the rack, my pliers took up the entire drawer laid out without being on top of one another. I saved about 60% of the drawer space by putting the rack in and now have a lot of other stuff in that same drawer.

Thanks guys.

I ordered an Ernst to try. I think at lot of these are going to exceed the height of the drawer I am going to use, so I may just end up using the Ernst for crimpers and going back to a more flat setup for the main stash. We shall see on move-in day.

Edit- I also ordered a standard wire version, so I think I've covered all the possibilities.

Coming full circle here, I got a pliers rack AND the 2 of Ernst rack.

So far the only one I can't get to sit still is my smallest vise grips in the wire rack.

All these are in 3" deep Lista drawers, which is just about perfect. Pliers Rack and 1 of the Ernst shown. The other Ernst has all my crimpers and strippers in another drawer. I am favoring the Ernst due to the grippier surface if I need to expand.

You'll get much better results with the pliers rack at the back of the drawer.

Is the rack in the back of your drawer this Snap-on rack?
