Long time lurker, first time poster from Cali.

Yeah been lurking here a while lot of good info and even better people here. Well finally signed up cause when i went over for mothers day she asked if me and my brother wouldn't mind "taking an look at a few things." Well the house is 27 yrs old and my dad was good and maintaining everything but its been 5 yrs since the divorce and those "few things" actually turned out to be 26 things. Nothing major..... So Far (knock on wood) kitchen faucet leaks, garage door sticks, the only 2 "big Jobs" are need new water heater and a section of backyard fence needs replacing. Figured time to stop in and introduce my self so if i ever get stumped I got a place to go and find the answers.

Im in Cali too, and I have some free advice
Do not get a Kenmore water heater. Mine made it almost a year, but now I have to relight the damn thing every day I want a hot shower. It seems that ould at least make it energy conserving, but it's not.
