Been browsing and reading for a couple years now. I got tired of not being able to view pictures and attachments so finally made an account.
I am also in the process of finishing up my shop and some ideas from members would be great, just started my first thread!
The "shop" started as an old barn of some sort, my wife thought I was crazy for even thinking about storing my car in it. I'll be honest, I felt silly saying I was going to "the shop" for the past two years since it was just really a run down old barn that happened to have a concrete slab. LOL
The inside is 26' L X 16' W, 10' H. There are large sliding doors to close it, we added a side doors however.
It is just my "racecars" home so it is big enough to get by. Nothing else belongs in there.
It has a concrete floor. attached to it is roughly a 26' L X 50' area that the front is open. This is great for storage of things like wood, supplies I don't worry about people stealing etc... I have some cool ideas for this to be turned into a BBQ area later this year but I have to finish up the shop first.
There is also another barn about 100' behind this one that I'm going to close in the area that has a concrete slab in it (16' L X 10' W X 15 G) so I can store the lawn mower and yard supplies... Our kayaks.. Etc. Right now that stuff is using up a small shed that half is a work out area and half is waiting to be a work out area! LOL
I'm getting rambling on future projects now though.
We ripped down everything on the inside. Added insulation, all new electrical, new lighting, and a few other odds and ends. I just got finished building my first workbench. From the outside it still looks like a run down barn. From the inside.. .Considering where it came from... I love it. Warm in the winter, cool in the summer, electricity, great lighting, running water, and decent space compared to what was there.
This has been VERY budget friendly which has made it a little more challenging but that's half the fun IMO!
Thanks for the welcome.
