Hey there!

Just signed up for Garage Journal. Been a lurker for quite sometime, but decided to sign up because of the knowledgeable people on this board. I'm a younger guy, and I am a professional tool salesperson in the Chicagoland area. And sell some great products by some great companies. Such greats as SK, Gearwrench, Lisle, KD, Ingersoll Rand, Aircat, Sunex, Grey Pneumatic and more.

I've also signed up to ask a question for those who are in two particular fields. I went to college for CJ (criminal justice) and graduated with honors, but after investing much time trying to get into the field, I've decided to go back to school for one of two fields, auto mechanics or welding. I have a little more experience in mechanics, but just know absolute basics. I also use to weld a bit back in high school. Would love to hear the pros and cons from anyone with experience in those fields.

Id Get into welding. Lots of oil and gas jobs to be had right now. Less diagnosing then cars, and more money. Or you could work for a local welding shop.

Thanks JC23! As far as welding, the local college has quite a few different welding classes. If you have time, I could show you some of the different courses and get your opinion. Would definitely be helpful!
