I've read this forum for quite a while, and been a member since 2008, but haven't posted...dunno why, too busy being on the H.A.M.B., I guess. Or I'm lazy. Hard tellin' which. Anyway I have gotten a lot of valuable advice here, and hopefully will have something useful to contribute.

Thanks, gentlemen...appreciate it. Actually I lurk several times a week...just haven't posted. I've been slowly outfitting my latest garage, so I had a lot more things to learn, than to contribute.

Big shops are nice, but a well-organized small shop will do better than a big messy one. If you have to, sacrifice some square footage in favor of quality of construction (like GOOD lighting, insulation, plenty of outlets, etc.)....and give some serious thought first to storage. Spending some money on storage will make up for a lack of floor space. 10K isn't all that much to spend considering you will probably need to budget for insulation and a heater of some sort...also some extra concrete details like vapor barriers so that the floor doesn't sweat, or cause you to freeze every time you lie on it.
