I took Friday and Monday off this past weekend so that I could make some progress on my workshop build. As I walked from my car to the office lobby this morning, limping slightly and with my arm in a brace, I had a moment to reflect on my sorry state.

What an awesome weekend!

Nope. Not a single one of us will ask "what happened". We'll just sit here in silence and satisfaction you had a good weekend without us ever kn-

Ah crud, I got to find out. WHAT HAPPENED? Tell us a story!

Oh, nothing eventful. I got a bunch of work done on my shop, and I'm not as young as I used to be. But the aches and pains served as a satisfying reminder as I returned to my desk job -- supposedly "refreshed and recharged" -- that I had in fact squeezed every ounce of wonderful out of my long weekend.

I got more done in the garage this past weekend than I normally do, but it was my long weekend off. Most of the time I go out with good intentions of getting a lot done, but end up thinking I should enjoy my time off and drink some beer, and that's what I do. I'm getting more interested in getting things done with spring around the corner, now.

I drove 2 8' ground rods in beside my shop yesterday with a 6 pound hammer. This is quite a feat considering you can't dig almost anywhere on my place with out hitting solid rock. Haven't swung a sledge in years. Can't hardly straighten my arms out today. Ouch! My elbows hurt just thinking about it. LOL.

I'm in the process of installing a metal roof on my shop.
I'd be on the edge of the roof and my leg would cramp so bad, I'd have to roll over to get out of it. After the first day of non stop bending over, my legs was so sore that I couldnt close the recliner with my legs, so I just stayed there the rest of the night.:lol_hitti.
I also limp into work on Mondays. It's hurts, but I can still do it.

This last weekend was the second one on the roof, it's wasn't bad, so I can still do it on a regular basis.the real killer was last month when we stripped the shigles. I could hardly walk!

It is great during the staff meeting on Monday mornings, " what did you do this weekend ." " oh, I layed out by the pool,I washed and waxed the car..............

After working on my barn 12 hours a day every weekend last late summer & fall Mondays started to become my favorite day of the week. I could come into work, set a my desk and actually relax!

I joke with my friends and co-workers all the time that I have to go to work to recover from my weekends. Not from too much partying, but form too much physical work and the effects on my body.
