I have one of these from gearwrench, but need another and it doesnt have to be ratcheting.. So I was looking around and noticed that Mac skips the 21 mm

http://www.mactools.com/en-us/Wrenc...71/Metric-0°-Offset-Double-Box-Wrenches-12-PT

And so does GENIUS

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Genius-Tool...hash=item41bc889d5b:m:mu1c7JKl4xVlR7UrV9x1c5g

(which is interesting since the genius wrenches look like copies of the mac design)

Anyway, Cornwell offers that size but its 75.00 !
http://www.cornwelltools.com/webcat...Long-Offset-High-Performance-Box-Wrench.html#

I suppose I should just buy another gearwrench one and just not use the ratcheting side of it.

But why do these companies skip 21mm?

Comes from the only set of craftsman wrenches that I have any form of interest in, I've got the 24x26mm which I use a lot, has a good enough length that I can easily remove bicycle freewheels with it which usually requires a vice.
I'm not a professional by any means but I have never once had to use a 21mm wrench, I've had lugnuts that were 21mm but that's the only time I've needed that size and it required a socket whereas I've actually needed a 23mm wrench a couple times (literally twice) making it a very uncommon size in my experience.

23? I would say a 23 is the size LEAST seen. 20mm happens sometimes.. but mostly just on GM fuel filters.
21 is all over the place on suspension parts (I work at BMW)

Doing rear adjustments on wheel alignments, you need two long 21mm wrenches on the newer Fbody cars

The price is ok on that craftsman, but it does look like its a tad shorter than im looking for, and its got a slight offset

I am curious what you are using it for? I have 22 and 24mm to add to my 8-19mm Gearwrench set. I opted not to get 20,21,25. They skip 23.

Last week I needed a 21 mm to work on some plumbing, a shower valve manifold thing. Since I don't recall ever needing one before, I grabbed one at Home Depot for $3.50. Obviously not US-made, but it did that probably one-time job.

The Cornwell is a nice wrench, I have those in SAE but they are expensive for what they are. I dont know of any others that do a 21mm.

All kinds of suspension work on bmw stuff, but probably would use it in any Euro vehicle honestly. We use dual 21mm's on the rear alignment adjusters on the 5 and 7 series cars

I have a straight cornwell ratcheting 21 I use for those. I hook another boxend on the open end if I need more leverage. Sometimes my long gearwrench 21 will hit the rack or get in the way. I used 21 a lot on alignments.

And then I brought a snapon adjustable. I LOVED that wrench lol. I took that and parrot nose pliers to every alignment. Only got wrench out if I had to

TOPTUL does make this style of wrench but they too do not make it in 21mm which I think is a pretty common size. Their set includes 17X19 and 22x24 but no 21mm. Interesting.

Oops, I didn't realize the OP was from the UK. He doesn't have a location listed under his avatar. If that's the case there is this Trident brand T212520 20x21mm from Ebay UK.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/trident-t2...g-spanner-20mm-x-21mm-length-415mm/1736846014

Im not the OP, we don't have much Cornwell here either. My metrics are Nepros but they don't do a 21mm, so I would get the Cornwell If i needed it, I have it in a long SK ratchet wrench.
These long flat wrenches are not a tool to go cheap on, the good ones have some of the thinnest box ends found on any wrench and the torque you can get on is really quite high.

We use the longer 13/16'' here in the shop and many times the 7/8" as the 22mm.

In Europe the SAE or AF fractional may be harder to find than in Mexico. As it goes out of use the markets are flooded with it.

Trident don't seem bad long box wrench, I got a second hand hardly used 7pc set that goes up to 24mm, I used them fair bit and always done job, chrome seems decent, broaching precise, pretty good taiwan made set, bit overpriced new .

I'd like to just know why the tool makers don't bother with 21 mm in these types of wrenches. The cheapest way out I suppose is to get another 21mm gearwrench

It only took me just one 5 series alignment before I got myself a 21mm XL length ratcheting box wrench from Gearwrench. Once people in the shop knows you have this wrench, they'll be asking to borrow it all the time when they have to do a 5/7 series. Safe yourself the frustration and get one.

On a side note....these Gearwrench non-reversible ratcheting mechanisms have really loose tolerances as there's more play than I like. The durability of the chrome plating is quite dissapointing as well. Asides from that, these have been doing its job nicely for the past 3 years.

I already do have one 21mm long gearwrench like that. My post was meant to ask where I could find another 21mm long box wrench WITHOUT the ratcheting mechanism, but it seems like gearwrench somehow can build a ratcheting version cheaper than any US brand can make a non ratcheting version.
I barely ever use the ratcheting side, since the wrench is more comfortable in my hand for really cranking on the fasteners, when i use the fixed end and hold it by the ratchet side

Carlyle makes one. They make a 19/21 and a 21/23. The 19mm/21mm part number is LDBZW1921M for $44.99.

It seems like you want the same wrench as you state that holding the ratcheting end is more comfortable in use. .....and I agree that there is a noticeable difference between the two ends. I use the ratcheting end on mine all the time though, because I'm a lot faster doing those alignments.

If anybody's curious....here's a list of GW 21mm wrenches:

Faster at them than I am? lol.
Im pretty stinking fast at them. Are you at a BMW dealership too? Normally I have my 3/8" drive long ratchet with a 21mm socket in the other hand, so I DO technically have the ratcheting speed, too.

Gedore makes a zero off-set double box you can probably get in the U.K. But it isn't long.

Bimmer630,

I didn't say that I'm faster than you!
I find that they aren't too bad when the toe and camber settings aren't too far off from spec. When things are totally out to lunch it definitely takes more time to get it back to spec. And to answer your question though, yes, I do.

The f10 and f01/02 bodies are the quickest to get the alignments done on the rears, I think
