Doesn't make sense to buy sets off the trucks unless you're going to use most every size in the set. Sets don't get you much of a savings compared to piecemeal on the trucks.

Have you tried it on any "50% rounded" fasteners yet?

Yeah that why I bought a tool that I use a lot not set. When I bought it and use it, it work normal but I work on new vehicles not many older vehicles so I don't know if will I see a fasteners that already rounded?

Well I just bought it yesterday and has not use it yet but I have vehicles that need engine replacement and other one need drop engine and transmission together to let body shop work on body frame. That why I like my job at Andy mohr ford mercury Lincoln that have me to do heavy line jobs and Andy mohr body shop like me to do all works on vehicles that need pull or drop out of vehicles. They keep me busy.

So i will use it and report as my review....

I have that set of long, flexy spline end wrenches and they are fantastic! Wish that I could find the SAE set online for less than list, but that hasn't showed up in a while, if ever.

I think all of the long flex spline wrenches are are made by Kabo in Taiwan and rebadged Matco, SK, and EZ Red. I understand your concern with not wanting to buy SK without dealer support and the $5.00 a tool warranty fee is extortion, not to mention who knows if a broken tool would even get warrantied during the bankruptcy. However, SK spline wrenches are of pretty good quality and you may not need warranty servive, although it's nice to have. The Matco xl flex spline wrenches are just too expensive new off of the truck. I agree that for a special use wrench like that, it's much better to only buy the sizes you need.

i was little shock when price show me... i was feel like oh jeez.. i tried to look at ebay, other websites to see if i could find cheaper prices... none. i have either buy whole set from ebay that i might not use it much OR just buy what i use A LOT from my matco tool guy..

i did research about it and it is rebadged but what if i broke the box end and how long it will be replacement by warranty so i am rather to do with matco because what i has service from new matco tool guy was good.. But i dont have spend money on matco as i did with my snap on guy...

i just willing to spend little more money to have better service than trying to save money and do all hassle works by myself... i like to just handle a broke tool to tool dealer to replace it than i have to contact and have to send a shipment to them and wait for them to send new one...

I have you never tried a 12 point wrench? It will also work on both and won't chew the corners or protective coatings off your bolts. In a lot of cases after using a spline wrench several times in a bolt a regular wrench can be tough. Sharp corners + High torque = ruined nuts and bolts that will be prone to rust. It's just the newest fab to get you to buy more wrenches.

yeah i has both metric 6pts and 12pts wrenches... if 12pts are almost slip then i will stop and use my 6pts wrench and finish my job... no problems.

one reason that i like to work for new car dealership as work on newest vehicles, modern vehicles that have little or nothing badly rusts.. but sometime i have to work on older truck like 20 years olds... but no problems.

Hi Deaftech, I got the flexible longs from EZ red I love them. They just seem so capable of getting places others might fail and then deliver good leverage once there. I gave $180 IIRC from the Matco man. I highly recommend them. Good luck.

heavy line on ford warranty must make buying anything a struggle ?
my new shop - tough to make hours but more customer pay work than my last shop

i do all heavy line works.. i dont have a girlfriend yet.. i bring my own lunch packs. Not go out for fast foods as cost more than what i can make a lunch for all week..

i am agree with you with ford warranty on heavy line are tough but with my tools, i could make it or less than what they paid... problems is when i do that again, again, again then i can know which one are easy way to go LIKE Fusion or Milian with 3.0L V6 that have water pump weeping, i would just drop engine/ transmission with cradle down and make all easier work than try to do in-car repair because front cover has no gasket as only special ford RTV sealant but sametime the rear VCT solenoid body have to remove before front cover can come out! it is pain in the ***.. that why i told myself to just drop whole engine/ transmission down and do it..
