Hello all!

Very excited to finally join! I must admit I have been a fan for a few years and have been amazed at the breadth and depth of knowledge exhibited by the community. I'm someone who didn't grow up in a home where we "fixed stuff" but instead threw it out or called a repairman. I'm now learning by taking on projects and loving it. A major part of this is slowly building up my collection of tools. I love your comparisons, reviews, recommendations and guides.

Thank you all for creating/contributing such a wonderful place!

Also, I recently refurbished a vintage American Scale vise and am trying to identify it. (I will be posting more info in the appropriate thread/section) but thought I'd mention it to maybe drum up some knowledge experts to go check out my post. **Info has been posted in "Vises of Garage Journal" thread.

Toshn: i didn't see your American Scale vise post so how about posting up a few pictures here and I'll see if i can help you out. American Scale was located in Kansas City and went out of business in I think 1960 or the early 1960's. they made AWESOME VISES.

pictures and details and the more the better and if you might need help fixing or restoring it post up pictures here on the Vise Repair 101 thread.

welcome to the group and if you want to learn how to do almost anything i'm betting it's already in a thread or start one and we'll help teach you.

cheers
