I had been looking at a cordless impact wrench for a while and was excited to see Bosch came out with one for their 18v Litheon lineup, which I already own several tools. However, they only sell it with the batteries, for around $450, which is out of my price range for it's intended use, which is basically zipping lugnuts off and other light automotive jobs.

Today I went into Sears to see what they had on sale. They are doing one of their "If you can fit it in this bucket, you get 10% off" deals. I spotted the C3 Impact wrench kit on sale for $119.99 (normally $179.99) and immediately put on in the bucket. I then headed over to the impact socket isle and found they had the SAE and Metric deep socket sets on sale for $44.99/ea. (normally $89.99/ea.). I threw one of each in the bucket.

So, here's what I hauled:

Craftsman 19.2v C3 Impact Wrench Kit

Craftsman SAE 12-piece impact socket set

Craftsman Metric 12-piece impact socket set

All told, with the 10% bucket discount (+$4 for the bucket), I got everything for $192.97!

After charging one of the two included batteries, I put the 21mm socket on the wrench and let loose on the lugnuts on my truck (2002 Toyota Tundra, lugs torqued to 83 ft/lbs). It zipped them right off with little effort. For the money, I'm very pleased. I will be doing a brake job next week and will try to shoot a video of the impact wrench in action and post a more through review for y'all. In the meantime, some tool **** for your pleasure:

Those are good sockets. Wipe them with a little oil though as their rust protective coating is not the best. You did steal that stuff.

Nice score. All of my impact sockets are craftsman, I love them. I should go see if they're doing the same sale on the C3 impact at my local sears.

Thanks for the tip! Would a coating of WD-40 suffice or should I use something else?

I've also thrown a couple desiccant packs in the drawer.

Are you sure about that? My current Bosch 18v Litheon tools COO are as follows:

Hammer Drill: Switzerland
Impactor: Malaysia
Circular Saw: China
Sawzall: China
Flashlight: China

I LOVE that Bosch set and will probably pick up the impact wrench when they offer it as a tool only, but right now being unemployed, I can't justify the $450 price tag.

I'm skeptical of this C3 tool as I had a couple 14.4v Craftsman drills **** out on me within a year in the past, which is what drove me to the Bosch lineup. For the money and from what I've read about the other C3 tools in the lineup, I'm willing to give it a chance. After seeing how it zipped the lugs off my truck, I'm confident it has the power to do what I want, we'll just have to see how long it lasts.

Yea, I seen one at my Bosch dealer(Bridgeport in Marietta, OH) and some guy(I think Mr Tools) from Malaysia in the old world tool thread had one. I'll look for pics.

On the oil, I use 3in1, breakfree, LPS2, or Mobil1 in a squirt can.

I have the Bosch Wrench in 14.4 it was made in Maylasia.

Can you tell us how many "hits" it took to get the lugs off? Was it like an air impact, "bang, bang, zing" or was it more like a bunch of little hits and then spin it off? The reason I ask is because the bosch I have is not really enough for lug nuts. It will get them off but it beats on them too long, causing peening of the nut.

It was more of a bang-bang-zing. Not as efficiently as an air impact, but impressively fast, nonetheless!

I will make sure to video it next week when I work on the truck again, assuming I get some rain-free weather!

I have had the same impacts for five plus years and beat them to death and they are still asking for more.

You will be happy with them.

Hi , now I using the Bosch 18V Lithium Ion Impact Wrench with Bosch 1.3Ah 18V Lithium Ion Battery because Bosch 1.3Ah 18V Lithium Ion Battery is more lighter in weight but the battery cannot last longer when you need to use it on heavy duty work . So I suggest to use Bosch 2.6Ah 18V Lithium Ion Battery if u want to use it on heavy duty work .

I will upload some video of screwing a hex wood screw into wood by the Bosch 18V Lithium Ion Impact Wrench at here with youtube

I haven't had a problem with that, but then again, they get used fairly often. If nothing else, the oil definitely helps prevent some of those old rusty lug nuts from getting stuck in your socket.
