Suggestions needed, I'm looking for a roll cart with a stainless steel top/lid, 2 or 3 drawers, pry bar/extension/screwdriver holders, and space at the bottom for fluids/funnels/etc. So far I can not find one that meets all of these requirements. Anyone have one or know of one close? I can find tons that meet 2 or 3 of those requirements but not all. Help!

Boy, you don't want much, do you???

First picture---both ends of the spectrum---price wise...

Second picture---the mostest for the leastest...

Good luck in your quest, there's probably someone on here that knows right where to send you...

like mentioned, pry bar holders/paper towel holders/spray can holders etc seem to be added after purchase. there is a nice thread around here that shows "modifications to the harbor freight tool cart" and it shows all the modifications that people have done

You can custom order pretty much anything from Shark. They're out of Kent, WA, but their boxes come out of China. I have a roller cart from them (doesn't have a SS top, but it has a lot of room in the bottom area.) I can pretty much guarantee you the stuff they sell is pro-quality. I have a Snap-On box and a couple USA Craftsman boxes, and this thing is about as good as the Snap-On. This one was going for $1500:

I don't understand... So this is garage journal... We all use tools. Is it that hard to modify the cart for prybars? If you need stainless top just bolt on a piece of stainless to the lid.

The perfect cart for you ready to go will run $800 yet you can make the hf one perfect for under $200. Depends,on your finances to laziness scale.

no it depends on if you want a hacked together piece of junk and have hours upon hours of free time to make it work

I havea HF5 drawer and can't wait to get rid of it

Well the best reason is because you will be stuck with it for the rest of your life. With the SO when you decide it doesn't fit your needs any more you will put it up for sale and get 500 or 600 for and if you purchased used you may not even take a loss.. The $1500 shark isn't gonna bring much at all used maybe 150 200 or so and your gonna say I'm not taking a beating like that so you keep it

I truly do not understand. If the op was looking for an American made box to someday pass down, a weird drawer configuration, or something else ridiculously specific, I wouldn't make a suggestion.

Half the people on here are engineers and the other half are mechanics, and we forgot how to use a power drill? He described the hf cart I, what he wants minus two small mods. He needs to enlarge the screw driver rack for pry bars. Hole saw, done. He wants stainless top. If it's as a work surface, cut one out and bolt it on. If it's for show, take the old lid to a cnc shop and they can copy it in stainless. Even if the top is $150, that still makes the whole cart 1/4 the price of The shark.

Example... I did this 4 years ago as a C level tech. I wanted a cart with full drawers and wasn't going to pay over a grand for one when I didn't even make that much in 2 weeks at the time. So I bought two hf carts for $220, that's with tax and gas. Built it in a week during my lunch breaks. So I ate while I built, no time wasted. Took about 3 hours time.

The only reason it looks like **** is the stickers, otherwise it looks real nice. This is also 10x harder than what the op asked for.

I can't stand metal roll carts. They are ugly, they are not very stable and can bang into things and scratch them - including my arms and legs. And they aren't really useful for working on, just for carrying tools to the job.

I prefer the heavy plastic ones. Rubbermaid makes some good ones. The best I've found were made by Milwaukee - called Trade Titans. They only made them for a year or two, I guess they didn't sell well. I bought three of them a few years ago. They are awesome carts - more heavy duty than metal carts. They have a nice flat work area, a recessed parts area, an end that can be configured any way you want - wire spool storage; small torch outfit; pegboard or even to hold a small stepstool. They have a spot for your cordless impact gun. They have a drink holder. Underneath they offered a locking storage area, but mine are open and I have large bins in the bottom. You could install a toolbox with drawers in the base.

And they are practically indestructable. You can actually use them as a workbench. I've torn down an automatic transmission on one. Try that with one of those prissy metal carts.

The only thing wrong with them is they come with two rotating casters and two fixed wheels on the other end - they are so big that they don't maneuver well like that, so I put all rotating casters on mine.

That's not the issue. It's not deep enough for the handles

Sorry if I wasn't clear. The one in the photo isn't the one I bought. As stated, the one I bought didn't have a SS top and it was open in the bottom. I got mine for $200 out of a speed shop that was advertising their last remaining stock on Craigslist. I had to assemble it, but it's built like a brick s-house, so I'll attest to its garage worthiness.

One of these days, I'll get around to posting photos of my boxes on the big thread. :)

I've been looking for something that meets those same requirements, with big wheels to move around in gravel paddocks as well as in the garage. The best thing I've found is Snap On's heavy duty workstation. https://store.snapon.com/KRSC101-Se...Heavy-Duty-3-Drawers-Gloss-Black-P648564.aspx

Definitely looks awesome, but phew... costs more than I paid for my old KR top chest and roll cab. Good luck finding a used one, I've been looking for over 6 months and only seen 2 for sale, both too far a drive to be worth it.
