Great choice, if you do a lot of work on cummins it is the wrench to have since many of the bolts are torque to yield.

Stop encouraging me! :lol_hitti

those seem to be overkill to me.........

i have these and like them
http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item...1&group_ID=958&store=snapon-store&dir=catalog
http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item...6&group_ID=958&store=snapon-store&dir=catalog

the 1/2 i have is the older model like the 3/8 but the same series. you may want to check out precision instruments from other sources than snappy, you might save a few bucks.

Those 2 actually look nicer than the electronic one. So Shiny

Every time i look at nice new tools like this, i feel depressed that i make no money..

Are you out of work?

I don't have that one, but it is interesting. If I was in the market for a new T-wrench, that one would be on my list for sure. I'd like to hear a few user reviews myself.

Don't forget to take a look at PI and CDI, I believe CDI is the OEM for those, they are the OEM for lots of companies torque wrenches. And PI is arguably nicer.

I have the techwrench model and they are super easy to use. So nice to push a button to move from NM to lb ft. The vibration and tone when you get to torque makes these very user friendly.

The model you linked has the added feature of providing torque to angle which is becoming more common on newer cars and other stuff. Get it. You will not have any regrets other than having to spend a few bucks on batteries.

Oh, btw, I picked up my 1/4 model brand new off ebay and got it for about 50% of retail.

No, i just don't make much money.. :(

That is why I sell tools!! It allows me to upgrade or add to my box with little to no investment!!:pimpflash A week ago I bought a cardboard box full of snap on, matco and mac for $340.00 at the fleamarket and sold most of it and kept a 3/8 & 1/2 snap on locking flexhead ratchets and a stubby snappy. Oh yah I made about a $200.00 profit as well:thumbup: I kept all the misc sockets and wrenches to!!

The Taiwanese company called Williams Tool Co. Ltd. has had their own, and they cooperated with CDI so that they too could produce the components of the digital torque wrench.

I bought a used QD2R100 a while back. I had one of my local Snap-on dealers test it on the truck. It was dead on at 50 and about a pound off at 100. I am very pleased with it so far. I don't really want a torque wrench that needs batteries but I am a bit of a Luddite. I am also not fond of power windows, power locks, automatic transmissions, electric corkscrews, diaper wipe warmers, etc...

I'm a new snap on franchisee. I have sold several tech angle. All my customers are in love. Put one of those 3/8"s in a gm dealership 2 weeks ago. He let a couple other guys use it. The next week got 2 orders and several guys putting them on the "needs list"

I'm kind of the same way. I bought a qd2r200 a couple months ago. My boss has three SO click torque wrenches that are all a couple decades old. Another co-worker has a couple that are also 20 years old. I figured I would rather spend my money on something I know is going to last a very long time. I just can't see an electronic torque wrench lasting 20 years...

My SO guy tells me the techangles have been out for 4-5 years now and there havent been any problems with them. Is he bullshitting me or what? I took into consideration what greenreese said and started looking at the very attrective SO split beam torque wrenches. I just hate using the torque angle adapter so much! I need help please!

LG, I have that exact TW on order now. Probably overkill for a hobbyist, but I do not want to have to buy a second one.

This one made by Steelman looks exactly like the SO.

Looks can be deceiving. Does the Steelman vibrate when the desired torque is reached? There's no mention of it measuring torque angle either.

I have the Snap on Techangle torque wrench in the first link. It's a great tool. There was a problem with the batteries going dead on the first models but, Snap on fixed that. I've had mine for more than a couple of years and it has served me well. They are very durable and a pleasure to use.
On a side note, Gearwrench was demoing their new 3/8 drive flex head digital torque wrench at last weeks AAPEX and Sema shows. Their new wrench has the angle measurement built into it. It doesn't vibrate when the desired torque is reached. I think they'll be available the first quarter of 2010. You could probably pm steve at Gearwrench brand for more info.

I bought this a couple months back. For my needs it's perfect. I can pretty much tackle any job with it.

Puts a smile on my face every time I use it.

I have the older click snappy TW's, I bought a cheap snappy torque angle gauge for $20 at a pawn shop for torque to yield bolts. I'd love to have a new electronic one but it's too much for me. I've already invested $500 in the two click types I have currently.

I have had the tech wrenches since they first came out. The only problem that I have had in six years is I dropped one off a scraper because my hands were frozen and it cracked the lense. I sent it in and they fixed it. My employer requires us to have them calibtrated every year, on their dime, and the guy that does it says he has never had to do anything to a techwrench at any shop he services. Mine have bounced around in a service truck from day one right along side my split beam and it has worked every time.
