Looking for a 120 volt air compressor

Restricted to 120 volt in the garage, and no bigger than 30 gallon for space. I plan to use a die grinder, sander, portable sand blast gun, and all the other air hogs . This is to support recreational car repair/ fabrication. I have a basic home weld shop setup. I know that is asking a lot in a 120v unit, it only gets worse. I would like it quiet too as the living room is on the other side of the wall and my wife is tired of hearing the direct drive I currently have.

I am looking at the Ingersoll Rand Garage Mate Air Compressor — 2 HP, 5.5 CFM, Model# P1.5IU-A9 on Northern's website. Looks pretty good. I think it will keep up with my tools, just from reading their CFM usage. Any experience with this unit? Any better recommendations?

CFM ratings for most non-professional air tools are rated for 15 second average which means you typically need a LOT more air. The die grinder that says 4-6 CFM is a joke, figure 18-24 SCFM. A 30 gallon 120V will run an impact decent because it's not used continuously. The sub $100 die grinders are typically 0.33 HP and use 18+ SCFM at full load. A 0.5 HP air tool will generally use 23-28 SCFM and a 1 HP air tool will generally use 30-40 SCFM. DA sanders are often around 16 SCFM. There is nothing wrong with the Garage Mate in itself but it won't run any air hogs for more than a few seconds. For continuous use you need at least a 230V 5HP compressor capable of making about 18 SCFM.

Limited to 120v and 30 gallons...
As the laws of physics still apply that's probably as good as you can do. I'm fairly certain that pump is rated for continuous duty, so plug it in and have at it. Just get used to listening to it.
