What exactly are you trying to do?

Protect my garage LED lights from being left on.

They are on a circuit with two switches - hence I need a 3 way switch. In the utility room as people enter the garage I want the push button timer. I have one now and it is fantastic. We all push 5 mins and it is enough to get in your car unload it - whatever - and then it turns off. If I am working in the garage, you can select 'on' and it stays on. The problem is it is not a 3 way. So the switch in the garage doesnt work. I just installed my leds with dimmer in the garage so had to remove the 2 way timer. I want to have the dim control in garage, but timer in utility room. Make any sense??

What about using a 3 way occupancy sensor? With those, you can set the amount of time you want the lights to stay on after they stop sensing motion in the garage. You can set the time from anywhere between 30 seconds up to 30 minutes on most of them.

They sell these types of 3 way sensors at places like Home Depot and Lowes. Here is a link to one at Home Depot: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Leviton...tch-with-Color-Change-Kit-IPS15-1LZ/301420118

This one can be set up as either a single pole or 3 way so that you could replace one of your current 3 way switches with it.

thanks guys

The problem is I want my lv dimmer in the garage (as one of the switches) the other one is in an adjoining room the utility room. I guess that might still work.

After doing a pretty good search, I am just surprised no one seems to make a push button timer in a 3 way.

Btw I'm loving my LEDs in the garage with dimmer functionality

Intermatic EI400 series.
It doesn't have the multi button selection, but you program it to how long you want it to stay on, anywhere from 1 second to 24 hours. Single pole or 3 way.

Thanks cybrdyke, that may end up being my best option. I guess my eaton on/off dimmer combo garage switch would still act as a permanent on for when working in garage and the utility room switch would activate the timer. Could be a decent compromise.

I don't see how the timer operation itself really needs to be (or can easily be) 3-way. Can't you just put two timers in parallel so that either of them powers the light?

You can get three way -- the slave controls the main timer switch at the last selection. I use them in bathrooms. Slave w/ light in toilet room .... main by shower.

Like occupancy for short duration spaces .. IE - walking through garage or occasional hall.
