Hello, I am new to the site. I am looking for a specific kind of socket set that will bite into the nut/bolt that is stripped. Kind of like an easy out but in the form of a socket. I've used a set before that was borrowed and for the life of me I can not remember what they called or the name of them can anyone please help? Thanks

Harbor freight calls them bolt extractor sockets, Sears calls them Bolt-Out Damaged Nut/Bolt removers. I think Irwin calls them Bolt-Grip.

10-piece Low Profile Twist Socket Set in plastic case. Quickly removes damaged or rounded nuts, bolts, studs, and socket head cap screws in tight quarters. The through hole design allows them to also be used on long studs. Fits SAE sizes 3/8" to 3/4" and Metric sizes from 9mm up to 19mm. Used where standard twist sockets will not fit. Can be used with an open end wrench, an adjustable wrench, or with a socket.

Bex13a goes down to 1/4" if that helps, although the smallest actual metric one in the kit is 8mm, im not sure the 0.65mm difference between 1/4" and 7mm would really matter?

Like I said in my post I used a set of these a few years back and thought they were awesome and had the intention of buying my own set then and well obviously never did. The time and aggravation that was saved and avoided because of these things is worth the money spent. So now I am on a mission of buying a set or two, now that I know what they are called lol. thanks again to you all for the assistance.
