My laser is Bosch and I was thinking to get one of the Bosch tripods but reviews are all over the place

what do you guys use?

note it must be elevating style of a tripod

How high do you want it to go? If not over 5 feet then I'd suggest any of the many older crank center column photo tripods. Our Bosch laser will only self-level 4deg or less off level so a 5 ft height puts you in the center of a ten foot wall.

Go to a photography store. They are the tripod experts. I used Bogen tripods many years ago when I was going through my photography phase which were built in Italy and still have them. They work perfectly. 50 grand worth of Canon film cameras and FD lenses wasted with the advent of digital photography. SAD:cry:

The Bogen tripods are now known and sold as Manfrotto.

I have a bunch I have bought used for nickels on the dollar of new prices. Not sure how much patience you have.

Using the elevator greatly reduces the stability, so get as tall on the legs as you can.

Unless you have been living under a rock for the past few years, the advent of mirrorless digital cameras has caused the value of good older lenses to skyrocket. There are FD lenses that are now worth quite a bit of money.

Yes, Canon FD lenses were near worthless for a long time, and the value of EF lenses has dropped significantly.

I agree with the others here, just get yourself a good photography tripod that has a fine tooth adjustment for height. This should definitely meet your needs and should allow you fine adjustment of height to fine tune your lines to where you need them.

Decide which range of measurement you need. The Bosch are decent( I have the lower end $45 model) but they only go so low and so high. If you need a wide range the Huepar 12ft tripod has been very good for us.
As a side note I took one of the Huepar mini tripods and removed the legs and mounted it onto my Bosch tripod after it fell and broke the quick release tab,by bolting the Huepar platform onto it gained me micro adjust left to right

Thanks to all for the info. I do have a standard tripod for my Canon 80d which works fine for that but I need one that has a crank when using the laser.

I am using the laser for general house hold projects nothing crazy.

I was thinking the Bosch

Black version is around $60 and the other is $140.

As of last summer, Trade Tools in Saint Paul MN sells the black Bosch for $10. I haven't been there since last year but it was standard pricing for a couple years.

I bought two for cameras, I don't know how rugged they'd be with a laser.

Do you have experience with these huepar bases? Looking at the PV10 you linked to mainly for it's micro rotate angle. I have a bosch laser and the bosch has a good micro adjust height base. But a guy I help out with concrete got a M12 laser that came with a base that you can micro rotate the angle of it. Makes laying out forms super easy and would like to get a base that I can micro rotate. My bosch I have to rotate by hand and it's not easy to get right, a lot of back and forth over adjusting. Just want to make sure it's a quality base that will last.

Yes the PV10 works well, I don't use it as often as some of the others ,like my modified Bosch tripod with the scavenged Huepar top mount I mentioned further up this thread. The main reason for that is my Dewalt 360 laser was stolen on a jobsite and my replacement was a Hilti that has the left/right/plumb line micro adjust built in,the height has micro-adjust built into the bracket, along with the HILTI tripod that (only) fits right inside the plastic case of the HILTI laser. Invariably they all suffer,or tend to be weak as the size of the laser and batteries/functions have grown but the lasers cantilever over the tripod/bracketry.
