What is the best place to buy a Rheem or Ruud Horizontal Furnace and AC coil/condenser?

My contacts from my days in HVAC land have dried up.

Thanks!

I might go the ebay route. If the unit is new, and is shipped decently, it really couldn't be too bad. I might have to look a bit for a horizontal though.

Was hoping maybe someone had a connection.

Thanks!

Find a local dealer who has taken the time and expended the effort to build a good reputation, then go with what that dealer offers.

The newer furnaces with their 96% efficiency are vastly different than those of years ago.

I would, but I don't want to mess with paying them for install. I'm more than capable of doing it myself. Hell, my Dad is a local dealer, but he hates me, so that option is out, hahaha.

You can always take a chance and go the eBay route.

Otherwise these guys are advertising on the web:
http://ingramswaterandair.com/complete-split-system-rheem-c-45_95_4054.html

Those guys cost me a small fortune on a package unit that was supposed to be in omaha within a week,Didnt show up for a month and was still the wrong unit!
It ended up costing me for a whole **** load of rotten produce at my friends store over their stupidity.
I told them I had a really big mouth and I know lots of people,And Ill continue to spread the word about those idiots as long as Im breathing.;)

Good to know! Thanks!

If possible, DO NOT use a horizontal furnace. Personal experience.

Was your personal experience recent? Was it with a high efficiency or B-vent unit? Curious as to what problems you had.

Why Rheem or Ruud? Everyone sells Goodman which is good enough for most installs.

I've always worked with Rheem. Just a brand I like and trust. I've heard many horror stories about goodman. I don't like carrier or lennox. Armstrong seems like jusnk to me. So, just like some people are Ford or Chevy, I'm Rheem.

To the best of my knowledge Goodman was acquired by a Japanese company, Daiken, (sp?), I have a Daiken (sp?) in my home.

Sorry to hear that you had that experience with Ingrams. Between my house, our work and a few friends I think I've bought 10 different units from them. Each has arrived promptly and in good shape. I will say all the one's I've purchased have been Goodman and they have preformed well over the years.

BTW, Daiken is Japanese.

If you have a EPA 608, just call your local Rheem/Ruud supply house to see if they will sell to you. Ferguson's, which has locations in many states, are the supplier in my area... and when I spoke with them, they stated they would sell as long as one had a EPA card (Rheem distributor in DE stated the same). You local supply house might be different. I didn't find about Ferguson's being the supplier in my area until I was doing some plumbing work.

As for the where I got my Rheem heat pump... I ordered the heat pump from Ingrams and picked up the coil from a different supply house in Delaware (i'm just over the state line in MD). Ingram's shipping was FAST!!! My heat pump showed up in 3 days from the time I ordered.
