I've used this bayco 2382 in a shop for 10 months now, haven't had a hiccup yet. The only thing that has broken is the hook retainer, its a plastic c clip. I fixed it by using a soft platic cap, I cut a hole for the flash light end to shine through & punched 2 tiny holes for the hook end. Simple fix.
It also has a car charger included.

I've got the same one. It's OK, but not great. Give it more than 10 months and you may not be quite so happy. My lens has clouded a bit and overall light output is noticeably less than when it was new; I suspect the batteries are faltering a bit.

I find myself rarely using it anymore because 1)I wish it had a magnetic feature of some kind, it just seems to always be falling or sliding around where ever I put it and 2) I've got an OLD corded Mac fluorescent light that puts out WAY more light.

Hey Jack,

I was under the impression that rigid batteries were only warranteed for 3 years. Do you have a source that says otherwise? I am in the market and this would be a selling point for me.

Thanks
When you buy a tool with a battery at Home Depot (only them, I'm pretty sure), you are able to sign up for the free Ridgid Lifetime Service Agreement -- which promises: "a lifetime of free replacement batteries, free service and free replacement parts..."

If you just buy the batteries alone, you only get the three year warranty. You have to buy them with the tool. The Home Depot listings will mention which stuff qualifies. But you can read about it here.

It's kind of a pain to sign up, of course. But it's free.
