I have been watching Essential Craftsman on youtube for awhile and really enjoy the channel.

The last few episodes Scott has been using a small sledge for driving form pins.
It has a regular face on one side but the other side flattens out like a mattock. This would be the perfect tool for formwork and I would love to find one.

I tried to ask in the comments but Am not signed up or in.

If anybody watches and knows where I could get one, please let me know.

Thanks

The one he uses resembles more of a tire hammer. The flat part comes off the top. Thanks though.

Similar but the "flat cross peen" or whatever it is called is on the back of the French style not on the front like the one in the video.

The one in the video actually looks like it was made for prying as opposed to striking.

Spike99250 ...... maybe try asking in the video comments?

He replied to my question about the hammer on youtube.

This is a hammer that I have been thinking of for 30 years. I designed it and commissioned Brent Bailey to forge it for me. It’s a 6 pound hammer with a flat face on one side and a claw for digging on the other. I just love it and will soon have them for sale on the website.

I don't think that is a blacksmith hammer. I have something similar from Gedore and it is for carpentry. Square face makes it easy to work in corners and near the edge; the other end is supposedly to make if easy to start small nails.

The title describes me every time I'm in the middle of a project. "Where did I put that hammer? I just had it."
