Looking for a hi-quality, mechanic flex light, battery operated with magnetic base.

I am going just nuts trying to find a decent light that I can position into all the awkward spaces on my vehicles, to shine some light on those darkest of areas. I have assorted lights, but they invariably keep falling out, or to the floor. Harbor Freight had exactly the style of light I was looking for, but I held it in my hand and it's a true POS. I would pay good money for something similar to this pic below. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been working on cars 20+ years now and the Miners have had it right the whole time. Headlamps! Small and light weight are key, and I'm not specific to a brand. I have 3 from Home Depot in the house, 2 more at the shop. I just bought a Princess Auto one SKU: (8864688) on sale for $5. Haven't opened it yet. I also use a Coast G20 2AA pen light when I need to show someone what's wrong with their car. It has a more focused beam that I can use to 'point' to the failed component. None of these are rechargable.

For rechargable I use a $40 Mac pen-light sized magnetic with a swiveling base similar to what you've pictured but not flexible. It just pivots. It has a cob light on the side and a single diode light in the end of it, which saves power. It'll easily go 4+ hours on high on a charge, often I only charge it once a week because I use the headlamp if it's more than a 20 minute job. I've lost 3 magnetic Snap On lights inside car doors, under dashes, or stuck to sub frames over the last few years and I'm tired of big dollar lights driving away. They're so awesome you forget it's a flashlight lighting up the workspace.... and then, it's gone. :-(

I have three of these 550 lumen Cree flexible lights. I haven't yet used them working on vehicles, but they are held in place by a powerful neo magnet, so there should be plenty of places to put it in an engine compartment. They are Chinese, so not SO quality, but they work well for me placing light wherever I need it, like bandsaw, sander, next to vise, or anywhere on my workbench, which has a steel top. They take 3AA batteries, and claim 10 hours of use, but the light begins to fade towards the end of the charge. I use NiMH rechargeable batteries, with a fully charged set of 3 always standing by. You can raise or lower the hood over the light to focus it on a wider or narrower area. The holder/alternate base (for laying the light horizontal or storing it) has the same neo magnet.
