Hi all, and apologies if this has been discussed and solved before — I couldn't find anything in either the GJ search function or Google's.

I have a pick-mattock I got at the local ReStore Habitat shop as it was about to be recycled (shudder). The handle appears to be original (wear, but not neglect) but the head was covered in rust+dirt. A couple days' soak in apple-cider vinegar (didn't have enough Evapo-Rust on hand) and then some detailed wire-wheeling and Dremeling brought out the forge marks seen in the image.

That logo in the lower stamping seems to ring a faint bell, but I can't ID it. And the words appear to start with an "M" and end in "RK" or perhaps "ERK". I'm guessing the USA is the country-of manufacture mark or possibly standing for United States Army, but if it's GI there's no other indication on it anywhere.

Edited to add: The head weighs 5 lbs and the handle is 36 inches long.

Anyone have ideas on who made this thing?

skmbabon & woody — thank you both. Quikwerk it is ( = Warren Tool & Forge). I ended up reposting the question here, and the Quikwerk ID was made, er, Quikly.
