I gotta side with the store. It clearly says "must be purchased online" and "not sold in stores" on the website

Picked up the saw and stand last night. Got everything put together this morning. I originally thought the stand was intended to permit you to fold it down and stand it up against a wall, but the stand manual (link - see image pg.7) doesn't support this method.

Just use a tow stap to attach it to the wall that warning is most likely just for liability issues.

Cause threads without pics ****, here's my new toy :D

pics linked to larger images

I've seen several reviews of the Dewalt DHS790AT2 that state they got an extra blade in the box. Not me. Plus there's no published list of what you should have in the box. The 60T fine finish blade seems inappropriate for basic framing work. I don't think I need a finish quite this smooth. I know nothing about blades, so any recommendations on what to get for basic framing is appreciated.

I didn't take pics of the charger or the AC adapter, but they both work fine. Batteries only took an hour to charge and unlike reviews I've read, the saw sounds and functions exactly the same IMO whether on battery or AC mode. I did stumble on one youtube video that claimed there was some issue with the AC adapter mode causing AFCI breakers on other circuits to trip. I've only just started to play with this and had no issues, but I also don't think I have AFCI breakers. Here's a link to that video.

I tried the HF 12 inch compound miter saw and took it back the next day. It was rickety and would not give me an accurate cut. It would also bind and slow down when cutting a compound angle on a 2X8. The laser guide was week and very hard to see or follow making it of little use.
I bought a craftsman I found on an on-line sale through ACE and it works nicely for me. I also have an older Makita 10 inch miter saw that does not do compound cuts and it is just a tough and solid as it was back in the 80's.
My advice to you would be to spend a little more and get one of the better models mentioned in this form as they are all very good.

Nice saw. Looks pretty much the same as their dws780. I definitely see the benefit of dual power, to bad that wasn't around when I bought mine... then again I haven't moved it 2 years. Either way they're a Great tool that will last a long time I use mine 3 -5 time a week for the past 6 years or so...
