Looking for a particular bolt

I am restoring two old “wrought iron” chairs. There was no “seat” for the chairs so I used some nice plywood and put on some stain and poly. It looks pretty nice.

I happened to have one bolt in my junk drawer I like. I will need eight of them to do the chairs. From above, it looks like a carriage bolt, but it does not have the square section. Under the bolt head are a couple of raised sections that press into the wood to keep the bolt from spinning.

Any idea where to get bolts like this? Worst case I could use a carriage bolt and perhaps grind the square part off.

My bolt is about 3/16” x 1-1/8” in length.

Thanks,

Jim

That’s an off the shelf bolt, can’t remember the exact name.

How thick is your plywood seat ? I would just get carriage bolts and drill a slightly larger countersunk hole for the square part to go into. Home Depot or Lowes should have something that will work.

The fin neck bolt would have worked well.

I ended up ordering stainless carriage bolts. They should work fine.

Thanks!

Home depot and Lowes both have a section fo their hardware drawers dedicated to "Furniture hardware". lots of oddball specialty hardware used in modern flat pack furniture.
