Just wondering if anyone has spotted a "best bang for the buck pressure washer lately.

I am leaning toward an 110 V one for simplicity and storage size.

It seems like there are a bunch of brands that are probably made in the same china factory,

I work at a hospital and frequently use electric power washers in the boiler rooms and mechanical floors, plus the central sterile supply department uses them to clean instruments and machines. They're all AR Blueclean and they work awesome. http://www.arblueclean.com

Well, lots of things walk off the property overnight and the ones that stay here get thrown around and dropped down stairs, etc. So the boss man said screw it I'm tired of buying expensive stuff that no one cares about.

Happens everywhere. I am constantly astounded how roughly my coworkers treat our very delicate $30k+ robotic total stations (surveying equipment).

Huh. I mostly see them being used to clean gunk off sidewalks, graffiti off buildings, or prepping houses to paint.

For that we have a gas powered unit that has a diesel powered heating coil. That thing will cut someones arm "clean" off if you wanted to.

Nice, but a little harder to store in an already packed garage.

I have the bigger electric fake SO washer Menard's sell. For what it is, specs and reviews are good enough for what I need. I didn't want a gas one for simple fact it's another engine to keep running. A good electric pressure washer is rather spendy compared to a good gas unit so I just went cheap and am happy.

I picked up a Powerstroke 3100 (3,100psi, 2.4GPM, 190CC) with a Subaru motor from Costco for $270. I'm very happy with it, I've got about 10hr on it so far. Reviews say I may have seal issues after storage but we shall see. 3yr mfg warranty and lifetime Costco warranty.

No matter what pressure washer you choose, be sure to use pump saver once in a while especially if it is not going to be used again for a while.

I use to have electric pressure washers, problem with them is if theres an issue its toss and buy a new one. I now have a commerical grade Generac with a triplex pump because its serviceable. Less expensive washers with axial pumps are not serviceable.

Bump for more opinions
There's only two types out there, commercial and non-commercial pressure washer for standard 120v. It narrows down to budget, $200 for non-commercial (HD or lowes) or $400 for commercial (order online).

If you want reliability, spend the money on commercial PW.

If you expect an electric to clean concrete, well if it does work its gonna take a long time. I have an older karcher electric I got from wallyworld. It does the job when washing vehicles or small stuff. I have a much larger subaru powered rigid that has worked great. Pump did fail due to what I believe is hard water here and I forgot to fog it one year. Northern tool had same pump for 100 bucks..

I purchased a Karcher 2400 psi with a 5 hp Honda engine about 15 years ago from Costco. Use it a few times a year and can't say enough about how great it is. Came with a nice 50' hose...brother in law used it and it touched the muffler and melted. He replaced with a 25 foot hose which is a pain... Would recommend a 50' hose for sure. Good luck!

In the market myself for a new pressure washer. My little $120 Karcher needs $30 to $60 in pump repairs and it always took forever to clean my driveway. Is there any electric model that isn't a piece of ****? Been reading reviews at the big box stores plus Amazon and quality seems to be spotty.

I also have the Snap-On branded electric (2000 PSI model) from Menards and it's been great. Works much better than a previous PowerWasher brand that I had. It has a pretty decent hose and cord storage system.

IMHO all electric ones $100-200 are about the same. Any pressure washer electric or gas needs proper maintenance to last long. City/well water plays a factor and if you have a water softner the salt builds up in the pump.

I ditched electric ones because I wanted more power, more controls on power settings and flow, removable nozzles, etc. I have a commercial Generac that came with the professional wand and 50ft hose. If you try to upgrade a consumer one with that your price is now into the commercial grade.

I have seen some clearance deals on the AR's not sure if there are new models coming out. BJs had it for like $85. The Generac residential gas models are nice and on a deal can be had for around $250, they just dont usually have the professional grade accessories.

The downside to electric ones, at least in US, are the 1.5hp max motor can be operated on standard 120v outlet. Therefore, the max pumping capacity is about 2000psi @ 2gpm. This is enough for usage around the house.

A commercial 120v electric PW is expensive compare to gas operated units; you can get one w/ twice the power w/ same money.

For guys that want wet sand blasting capability, stationary electric PW is a very good solution.
