Bringing this back to the top... it's been almost a year but I still have the issue. Summary: I obsessively researched air chucks and somehow still ended up with a setup that will not work on 33.3% of my vehicles (the Jaco locking chuck will not work on my BMW's valve stems).

Someone stole my second Viair compressor (I know who it was too, but it would be too difficult to get it back...) so all I have right now is my Joe's inflator with the Jaco chuck on it and the old Viair one that does not work (no longer grips a valve stem). Unfortunately the working Viair inflator was in the bag with the compressor that was stolen so I no longer have it.

This guy

"Milton EZ-Lock™ Euro Air Chuck, Heavy Duty Brass, 175 PSI, Open Flow - 2 Pieces" P/N 697-OP2

appears to be the same as the CTA model 1930 listed above except it's "open flow" for use with an inflator - please let me know if I should not order, order something else, etc. Thanks!

I still have the factory connectors on my pneumatic inflator (Astro) and my cordless inflator (m12 Milwaukee).

If they ever fail, I will probably buy the lock-n-flate that RichFinn mentioned.

I use the Milwaukee the vast majority of the time. When I go on a road trip, I throw it in the car with a Safety Seal set and a breaker bar.

Follow up finally, took the day off work and had an hour or so free in the middle of the day so I dug all this stuff out.

the "Milton EZ-Lock™ Euro Air Chuck, Heavy Duty Brass, 175 PSI, Open Flow - 2 Pieces" P/N 697-OP2 DOES WORK on a BMW E9x TPMS valve stem.

the "JACO Lightning S2 Quick-Connect Tire Air Chuck - 1/4" F-NPT (Open Flow) (2-Pack)" DOES NOT WORK on a BMW E9x TPMS valve stem.

the "Viair 92803 Braided Leader Hose" (on Amazon you have to select Style: 1/8" M to 1/4" M, Size: 18" no check valve) nicely replaces the original crimped hose and chuck assembly on a Viair inflator and allowed me to replace the faulty chuck with the Milton one, so now I have a backup inflator as well. This would also replace the original hose on the Joe's inflator as it also has a 1/8" FPT port on the inflator body.

I did order the "Alligator V2B Inflate Through Valve Stem Cap Gator Auto RV Semi (10 Pack)" just for insurance but I didn't need to use them. I did put one in each of the pill bottles of accessories (valve cores, caps, sports ball inflator thingys, core tool, etc.) that is in each compressor case just in case I ever end up in a spot where they're necessary. At some point when I'm bored I may check and see if it will allow me to use the JACO chucks but I have a good solution that is working for me now.

Now if I could just find the pack of ball needles that I ordered, because one of them broke inflating a football, I could put everything properly away again.

What is really amusing about all of this is that the chuck that works is actually the one I was going to buy per my first post, before I went all OCD.

I have this one, older model I've had for years now of course but still works fantastic, always has and very durable, though don't know if you are willing to pay the price for one. :dunno:

Keep in mind....if you are interested in buying one (living in the USA)......for a new one you would have to purchase through an importer or for a used one there is always Ebay.
