Does anyone know a source for a 5/16x24 cone point set screw with a slotted head? I can find 2 out of 3 attributes but not all. Before I try to recreate one, or switch the other 2 screws to allen-head I figured I would ask.

Buy a long one, cut the head off then slot it?

I hate slotted screws...

I didn't see any.

If it was me, I'd use 3 Allen setscrews.
-I agree, a set screw that uses a hex key will have more "bite" from the torque versus a slotted screw that has less torque capability. I don't know about others but I like to have threading dies and taps solidly secured in the holder so I get feedback when starting and during use.
