I need some smaller TORX and I want to buy good quality items. I was looking at WERA part numbers:
05031503002, 05031501002, and 05031505002. Basically T6,T8,T10 drivers. I was also looking at the Wiha's but they are $10.00 more... Their numbers are 26706, 26708, 26710.. Again T6,T8,T10 drivers.

Any insight?

Wiha have been expensive lately, but they are very nice. Germany vs. Made in Czech. I like both, you can't go wrong.

Reason I was going to go with Wiha is that they have hardened tips and I was recommended to get them. Wera... Any idea on which tips they have on them?

I have a few Wera Torx drivers and am well pleased with them. Other than the color of the handles and the finish on the shafts, they seem identical to the ones that come with Sandvik turning and milling indexable tooling for replacing the inserts. They hold up well. I will add that most of the newer stuff Sandvik seems to be Torx Plus.

No dbout Wiha is good too. Got some of those in Phillips and slotted.

both are good. The main thing to consider is the handles. If you like the Wera, well there you go.

Lots of Wiha stuff. Screwdrivers, pliers, precision screwdrivers, bit drivers, bits, etc. quality all.

Consider a Snap On (or other) ratcheting screwdriver with replaceable bits for these smaller bits. They take up less space and you can renew the business end of the tool with wear (very important on small bits). You can also inexpensively expand your capability; using long or short shanks, different handles, or by putting your bits into an electric drill motor.

I like the Wiha precision screwdrivers andIi have both the pica finish ones (nice) and the handles with replacable bits (also nice). If you do tons of this sort of work, you can easily justify buying drivers for every size. But if you don't do TONS, the replaceable bit handles offer a lot of value and capability, while also saving drawer space.

I never got the fascination with ratcheting screwdrivers until I bought a couple. My favorite so far is the Snap On soft grip stubby. I typically use it with a 9" shank. I just love that little guy, not sure how I ever got on without it.

Wiha smokes wera as far as quality goes. The Wiha soft finish handles are awesome. Wiha steel is second to none other than Snap-on.

I own a 12 pc wiha soft finish set

a 7pc wiha precision screwdriver set.

I also own the Snap-on soft Instinct 6 piece and the long cabinet set. Between the two sets there isnt a screw or jet in a carb you cant get.

The smaller wera style handles do not work so good for me.

I agree 100% I never liked the hard handle ratcheting snap but the stubby soft with interchangeable shanks is the ****. Awesome tool. I bought both handles and all the shanks and the one I usually use is the 9" and stubby.

I spent years turning a hard handle Wiha and wondered why others liked the snap hard handle so much. When snap started with the soft grip stuff it was a game changer for me.
