Well, It's come time that I've finally realized I should look for a toolbox. I've been stuffing all my stuff in "portable" toolboxes and, well, I have far too many now and I've got A LOT of tools on my "to-buy" list so space is a need.

I don't need anything fancy or "Pro" quality but, I also don't want a "new" low-mid line Craftsman box. They just don't feel solid and have the 'quality' feel I want in an investment.

Anyone looking to sell any toolboxes in the North-East Iowa area? Top, bottom, both? I'm looking for a solid quality box but can't pay for the name that Snap-On, Mac, etc... usually have. Yes, those boxes are likely worth what you pay for them; if you use your tools frequently.

Thoughts or suggestions? I'm looking for something in ~100 miles and maybe a tad further if the price is right. MN, WI, IL, or IA would be where I'm looking I would suppose.

Thanks and hopefully I can get something soon(ish)! I'm planning on getting a shop/garage actually setup and organized this spring and building around a box would just be nice!

Not sure what price range your looking at, or how big of a box that your looking for, but I have been giving some thought to getting rid of this box. I gave it new paint last summer, it looks very nice. It's a very solid, nice box, but I think that I would have to have about $500 for it.

Dang, that's a nice looking stack. That's a nice deal too but, unfortunately my budget is still smaller than that too. I *think* I would be looking to settle for a used Craftsman box or similar because that's about all that could fit in my price range at the present time. Most of my mechanics tools are still traveling in the blow-molded cases they came in with a few odds and ends in regular toolboxes as mentioned in my first post. If there was any way, and I mean any way I could scrounge up the money for that box, I would be all in but in all honesty, I have less than $500 sunk in my mechanics tools (I've gotten a lot of second hand and garage sale/auction tools) so I may question my action of I buy a box worth more than the contents :-( Then again, I buy roadcases for big-bucks to haul audio/video/lighting gear around so I should be used to that).

I'll do some checking and serious consideration on that stack and maybe hit ya with a PM sometime soon(ish). Where abouts in MN are you? I've got family in The Cities and in Rochester (and odds-and-ends here and there).

Putsy:
If you check my post in classified for refurbed tools and equipment you'll see 2 top tool chest I have for sale. the Snap on is a bit pricey, of course but the other is a STACK ON and identical in everyway to the Snap on, plus the stack on as pictured has a lift out tool tote tray, the Snap On has one also just not pictured. The Stack on I can ship to you for around $100, And I'd make ya the deal for $310 SHIPPED for the Stack on Box. PM me if your interested.
Thanks

Did you ever find a toolbox? I have a Matco 4s that I have been thinking about selling. I am in the Iowa City area. Drop me a pm if you are interested and we can discuss details.
