Looking for a unique socket extension

I had seen an interesting socket extension and am needing some help locating one.
3/8" drive about 3' long but what makes it unique is the shaft is the diameter of a 1/2" extension. I know it's off a truck but I don't know which.
seems odd I know but it proved useful in driving bolts in a bell housing. The large diameter shaft reduced the twist over the length but, obviously, the ability to use a 3/8 drive socket for the clearance.

You're better off not buying this from a tool truck unless you're willing to pay 2-3x more. These extensions aren't super hard to find. Several different brands make them. Do a couple internet searches using different combinations of the words "36 inch reducing extension 1/2 female 3/8 male 36in transmission".

I think Grey Pneumatic (Taiwan) makes one with standard ball detent socket retention like the others posted here, but I couldn't find the part number for it. Their pin lock version is part number 2277AL.

Most are going to be Taiwan made, a few will be China. SK is the only US made one I know of. Snap-on does make a 1/2 female to 3/8 male 36" extension (part number GAX36), but it has a regular 3/8" extension thickness for the full length. I'm not sure if they have a different model with the thicker 1/2" extension diameter all the way until the male 3/8 square drive tip.

These are typically used to remove flywheels. The one I've got has a universal joint (of the impact variety) in 3/8" drive on the business end to use the smaller 3/8" drive sockets for clearance purposes.

Oh, gotcha. I guess I'm the one that read it wrong. I apologize for my previous post infinite97. I assumed the OP wanted the drive end to be 1/2", because that's what I've seen people wanting and using in the past for transmission work. I don't know of any extra thick shanked extensions that have 3/8 drive at both ends. I not super familiar with 3/8 drive impact stuff though, I only use 1/2 drive impact wrenches or 1/4" hex impact drivers.

It's not a perfect solution, but a 3/8" to 1/2" drive adapter on the impact wrench would make a 1/2" drive reducing extension work. That would allow some of the cheaper options posted above to work if money is an important factor or if the OP only has a 3/8" impact wrench. If there is a thick shanked double 3/8 drive extension available from a tool truck it will likely be over $100, even if it's a Taiwan made rebrand.

I looked through the Snap-on site and I didn't find one, but their site has always been quite frustrating to navigate unless you know the exact part number you are looking for.
