So I and my shop partner have a large assortment of impact tools and sockets but Im always looking for those cool tools that I think can be of some use

In comes the slugging wrench but specifically one of these

But I just can't understand the price gouging when a typical slugging wrench is under $100 so why are these so much $350+ Any one ever made one. I was think of Buying a wrench and an adapter tacting up then preheating welding and cooling it in sand to hopefully keep it from getting brittle

Any Though or ideas or cheaper alternatives are welcome

At that price I think I would give building one a try.

If it was me I would buy a short impact extension and a piece of 1" steel.
Drill the hole to press fit the extension into. I would then drill two holes right on the joint between the extension and the steel and insert solid pins.
Then I would weld the joint on both sides and put it to work

I was thinking of somthing like that but not sure about welding as I know the drive end will eventually snap off and then the whole tool is shot maybe just like u ^^ suggested 2 large steel pins this way the heads are replaceable... similar the snappy breaker bar heads with pins
