As little as I did use it, the Pasload nailer gave me alot of grief. I'm not buying any more trim fuel. I now have a good air compressor set up and looking @ air nailers.

Bostitch seem's to be what my brother-in-L likes, what seems to give the best bang for the buck?

Bostich or older Senco's for me.

There's always a lot of used units on CL as roofers get in and out of the game.

I have Bostitch and Campbell Hausfeld brad finish nailers and both work flawlessly.

For the industrial type upholstry work I used to do, it's a Senco air stapler over 10 years old. Reliable and a beast.

I like the Senco finish nailers that shoot the 15 gauge angled nails. The nail is heavier than the brad type nail and hold great for casement moundings. Make sure it shoots 2 1/2 nails. Some of the older guns only went up to 1 1/2. You can usually grab one on CL or eBay for 75-100. The guns are an oiless design and easy to rebuild with O ring kits. I believe the older guns were USA made. THe new ones are probably imports. The older guns really well built.

Hitachi makes some nice brad style finish nailer.

I have Porter-Cable roofing and angle finish nailers. Both work very well, but haven't had just a lot of use; I'm not a pro. They're very light-may be made of magnesium rather than aluminum. The finish nailer shoots 15ga 2 1/2" nails that have a nearly full head, so they look like hand nails (at least the P-C brand nails do; haven't tried other brands) I also have a Bostitch framing nailer. It sat unused for 20 years before I got it, and ALL the plastic/rubber innards disintegrated. All are still available, though, and it now works great. The rebuild kit only cost a little bit more than a whole new Harbor Fright nailer. I also have a HF brad nailer. Very light duty, kinda clunky to work with, but does shoot brads.
I'm semi-guessing that the usual HF caveats apply to their air tools. If you only use them occasionally, they will probably work fine. If you're using them all day every day, stick with Porter-Cable, Senco, Bostitch.
I seriously considered Paslode, but when I realized how many nailers I'd need, and since I already had a compressor, went with air. Then too, it seems like every time I'm in a situation where I really don't want to be dragging an air hose around, a cordless drill and screws work just fine.

The last one I bought was a senco and as a bonus Made in Usa. Not sure if thats still the case I bought mine several years ago and it was older stock when I bought it. Still working great although I just use it when I have to after I built my house its just another tool in the garage to play with.
