You know the chrome trim on tool box drawers? Does anybody know where I can get it? I cant find it anywhere. I really dont want to use Door edge molding for a car either.

Go on the Snap-On site and find tool storage, get the dimensions of some of the KRL series boxes. Look up parts for drawer trim for whatever size box you need trim for. Your Snap-On dealer can get them or order off the site. Some will be brushed and some will be polished. Phone Snap-On customer svc. for help on brushed or polished.

If you want a duplicate set of the 'chrome' plastic strips off the cart you pictured, I'd be happy to send you mine. I just put together my HF 5-drawer cart and decided I didn't like the cheesy plastic trim. For the price of postage, I'd be happy to send you the plastic strips I took off my cart.

The only thing I can think of is the door molding or fender well molding fro vehicles. Not sure if that helps, but best I can think of for now, try Ebay.

I could probably hook you up with some black if interested. I have about a 200' roll if a vinyl edging that I had to buy to put on my fiberglass running boards and fender flares on my truck a few years ago. It has aluminum embedded inside to add to the grip and has kind of a pebbly finish on it. If interested I can snap a pic of what it is.

If you want metal trim pieces...go to the wreckers and get stuff of old cars.....if you want new..go to some of those reproduction auto part manufacturers. You'll get fasteners, clips and all the good stuff as well.

I suppose I am having a hard time figuring out what you are looking for. I don't see a lot of difference between the door trim and the pieces I pulled off my HF box. What is different, in your opinion? Is it just that it covers more of the box lip (i.e. it is wider than car door trim)? Are you planning on using it in the same situation (i.e. edge trim on the drawer of a tool box)? I'm not quite seeing what you need or why door edge trim won't work.

They actually look quite good without the cheap bling, you just need some classy stickers on there now :)

Thanks...I actually plan to paint it eventually...brown with yellow pinstripes. I'm sure that's not everyone's cup of tea, but it is what I plan to paint all of my shop equipment and carts. Now, I just need to get busy learning to pinstripe.
(I don't want to hijack this thread...)

richfinn...just noticed you live in England. I've spent a few years of my life in England. I was born in Lakenheath RAF (my dad was visiting forces). I lived there again from ages 5 through 7. I lived in Newmarket (near Cambridge) again for a couple of years as an adult...I was back as visiting forces myself. Kev.
