I am looking for some decent quality and price 5/16 bits, I am looking for a complete torx set and also metric/sae hex and maybe a few screwdriver bits. Just looking to see what is out there, I like the wera I have, but they are very spendy when you buy one at a time, and they don't sell sets that I can find, and 5-6 each gets expensive. I don't care where they are made, but would like quality or at least some more options. Maybe you guys can help me out. As for bit holders I am going with the wera quick release style, they are nice and I never can pull the bit out at all, they are bullet proof.

I love apex as well, I am just trying to keep the cost down, I only want to spend around 50-60 on the bits and after the 40-60 on the holders that gets expensive.

It seems like Zephyr or Apex, VIM appears to be all imports now, I have their older US made stuff and they're great, maybe keep an eye open for NOS stuff. The shame of it is it's hard to find the quality US made bits easily. For holders I have several, a few Apex ones and a pile of VIM and MAC ones, but again, hard to find now at a decent price, maybe eBay.

I know where you can get a bunch of Apex 7/16 bit holders cheap. ;) Me, send a pm.

But I don't know what the difference in cost of bits is between 5/16 and 7/16. Other than one or two specific bits I am planning on just keeping my eye out for them on ebay etc.

I would like to stay with 5/16 as the common sizes are 1/4 and 5/16 for bits. I just wanted something stronger than 1/4 and the wera holders are really nice and about the best I have ever used, and no spring or clip to go bad on them either, or a magnet to get weak. They are quick release and never let go until you are ready, but thanks for the info, if I was starting out I would like at them, but I have about 10 or so 5/16 bits and probably 100 or so 1/4.
