I don't mean to barge in but I've been trying to find the right thread to get into the discussions.I recently picked up a Reed 203 1/2 I picked up at an auction for $15 and during disassembly I found a "J" stamped on the bottom of the slide. I recall reading that this indicator helps date it, any Ideas?
I also have a Chaz Parker No.6 which I found in a salvage yard and 405 and a York 100 and several others all American, I believe my current collection is 17 as well as 7 anvils. I do ornamental and custom steel fabrication and have a love affair with the old iron. Vices and anvils are my personal vices... no pun intended.
My go to vice is the No.6
I would truly appreciate the direction to participate in these discussions as I've got questions.
