Looking for Feedback on Garage Signs

Hey Everyone,

I'm writing to ask for feedback on some new ideas we recently started tossing around.

We built these signs last week after one of the guys in the factory mentioned the idea. So far they are just up in our factory.

This is the GaragePals.com version:

This is the PitProducts.com version:

Both signs are 26 Inches Wide by 16 Inches Tall by about 2 Inches thick as there is a laser cut aluminum front plate with an aluminum tubing framework and then an aluminum back plate. LED light strips are mounted to the bottom of the frame. They plug into standard 110/120 VAC wall outlets.

I'd be interested to hear what you all think of these and if you have any ideas for improvement?

We are thinking the signs could also be neat as custom signs so people could send us their name or logo and we could then cut out the desired design such as "Bob's Garage"?

Ha! Thanks for the note. Do you think something like this would go well in your space? How would you personalize it? Your name? A logo? A quote?

From what I can tell from the photos, I like the concept and think it would look good in any shop. If it were me, my first choice would be an automotive logo of a marque I own. However that can get you into copyright issues. My second choice would be to come up with a variation similar to "busted knuckle garage" that does not violate copyrights and can be modified with the shop owners name. i.e. Jeff's Shop of Disrepair

Cool idea. I agree, we do have to be careful about copyright images...we don't want to do anything shifty.

For custom signs...we are charging $249.95 plus $50 per line of text (up to 3 lines of text). Each line of text can have up to 12 characters in it.

We are going to start by just offering custom signs with text and down the road we'll try to add custom logos or images laser cut also...but just text for now.

Options:
1) The back plate can be smooth aluminum or diamond plate aluminum.
2) The LED lights come in six colors: blue, red, green, white, yellow, and orange.
3) Up to 3 lines of text with up to 12 characters per line
