Hi Everyone,

I'm building an addition on my barn, the walls are 13' high. I'm using scissor trusses and the center peak is about 19' from the floor.

I'd like to install a 10' tall by 12' wide garage door, but I don't want the door to come back on tracks and limit headroom or block lighting. I think my only option is to go with a roll-up door, but I can't find a good quality insulated door.... any suggestions? Any opinions?

You can get a sectional door that doesn't track back horizontally. It's called high lift track, you could possible get the track pitched to match the roofline if the roof trusses don't interfere. Look for roof pitch track or high lift. Most local garage door companies should be able to do one of the two for you.

I have a hi rise track and love it. Check that out as previously mentioned.

I just built a garage and tomorrow they are finishing the doors. 10 wide, 9 tall and the one door will follow the truss which is a 7/12 pitch. I am using jack shaft motors as well. This keeps the head room you are looking for. I am doing this in the bay I am putting a two post lift.

Best of luck.

There are also the horizontal bifold doors. Solve some problems and provide a bit of an awning effect when open but they are expensive.
