Hello all ,
Id like to use my 1st post and ask if someone in the Chicago area here knows a vendor where I can purchase 100% solids epoxy. Ive done a couple garage floors as side-work with the Benjamin Moore 100% solids but at $50 for .7 gal it gets expensive.

The flooring system I am most familiar/comfortable with is

diamond grind floor & vacuum
patch cracks
primer
basecoat with full broadcast (sand or color chips)
topcoat - clear or colored
light sprinkle silica sand for non-skid

The customers Ive done LOVE it :)

Anyone use the Norklad 100% solids ? Ive used the color chips from them.

Any help appreciated. Thanks

-Kyle

I am also in the Chicago area, and although I can't help you with your question, I was hoping you might be able to help me. I was planning on a DIY epoxy project, but I can't get the last bit of old stuff off the floor. Do you know anyone who would be willing to blast or grind a 2-car garage?

Thanks for any info.

If you can't find anyone to get that done let me know. The contractor that I have in mind is VERY large and would most certainly be a bit more expensive than a smaller outfit... if they would even be willing to come out.

Hello
I'm from a little ways south of you. What system are you using?? How many sq feet does that .7 gal cover??

I use 100% solids stuff we get from our works contractor supply place. The clear coat 100% solids I get from Epco paint stores. Or the colored urethane top coat is also from the supply place. Its industrial strength stuff and can take a beating. I try to stay away from water-based or high solvent products because they want you to put it down thin and dont hold up that well (from other peoples experiences) .7 gal @ 150 sq ft / gal ( .012" wet thickness) does a little over 100 sq ft. You could put it thinner and do more sq ft and vice versa. And it also depends how rough and pourous the deck is.

Hope that helps.
