Get the black Goodyear hose. You can feel the difference in your hand.

Definately go with one of the black industrial hoses. I got a 100' one last year, don't remember the brand but it has a lifetime warranty on it. Hope to never use it but it's there.

Sears has a hose 5/8" diameter x 100 foot, 100% rubber with lifetime warranty as their deal of the day product. Free shipping. Normally $59.99 today $34.99

Not exactly what you are looking for but it may suffice.

In case URL doesn't work it is a:
Craftsman 5/8 in. x 100 ft. All Rubber Hose
SearsItem# 07169605000 | Model# 69605

You can get a hose for HOT WATER use too. They are constructed better because of the temperature. Basic hoses are only for cold water.

My next door neighbor has a black Sears rubber hose that is going on 30 years old. It's a bit stiffer than my 5 year-old rubber hose but holy smokes -- that's a good hose!

Sears had the 5/8" x 100ft hose on sale earlier this am. Price on internet showed at $24.99. I did a page print of the internet price and my local Sears hometown store matched it. These definitely are good hoses. I had a 75ft one for about 15 years. Hose looked almost new. The female end started leaking and Sears replaced it no questions with a 100ft one since they didn't have a 75ft in stock.

I can't stress the importance of a real rubber hose....black is best as it will withstand the sunlight better.....

Being the cheap ba$tard I am, I tried all the hoses.....at the end of the day...a couple of years under the sun and all but the black rubber one's fall apart.

I have had the 2 I have now (real rubber) for at least 5-6 years.....No signs of getting tired....

Spend the money now.....you save it in the long run....

Where is a good place to get these.

I find Amazon.com to be the best source for a lot of stuff like this. You may try Lowes or HD, but they seem to be moving more toward private label everywhere in the store :-/

Can't recommend one from Walmart. Tried their best one and it collapsed on the inside. No, I don't remember if it was from China.
