Why not do it the easy way, better too. Just get that spiral wrap you can find at auto part stores. Looks better too and it’s cheap.

If you want to preserve a 60s look, by all means use the TESA.
Great product and not messy,. It stays in place even in the vicinity of a hot and oily engine. Can be unwound and does not leave a messy goo affter removed.
Just do not double it up, glue to glue side. Virtually impossible to pull apart.

Definitely use the Tesa. They have a high heat version and a regular version. I use it daily. When doing remote starts i use it to blend the wires into the factory harnesses. You would not know there was a aftermarket device in the dash until you locate the unit itself. I use 3m super 33 or the 700 strong adhesion (same adhesive as 33 just not as stretchy but much cheaper) for insulating soldered connections

I just got some of the Tesa from Waytek. Havent used it yet but it looks to be the same as what I see on factory John Deere harnesses. That Amazon price is cheaper than what I ordered.

I'm needing to do some wire harness work next weekend and want to give it a nice factory look. I've been told to get some harness tape but have never used it before.

What brand would you guys recommend?

I've found Tesa (https://www.amazon.com/Tesa-adhesive-wiring-original-ISOBAND/dp/B00XPDVER2/) brand online but have never heard of them.
That's cloth tape ( friction tape) harness tape is real thin and does not have adhesive on it, keeps the harness flexible and not bulk it up.

Tesa is very good stuff, it'll last basically forever and is not messy when using or removing. It has very good abrasion resistance also.

I love the look of woven loom as well. When I tucked my harness and converted to a mil spec plug setup I redid the whole engine harness with it

I'm not sure I'm following you. Got a link to this spiral wrap?

If you are talking about a GM harness, the factory plastic tape is non-adhesive. I've found that no matter what type of adhesive tape you use, the underhood heat eventually causes the adhesive to ooze out everywhere, leaving a sticky mess.

Agreed. Find the non-adhesive type. You can get it in either cloth type or vinyl, depending on which one you like.

Tesa is the best tape for building looms. Hellermann Tyton do some expanding tubular sleeve and spiral wrap which are also good for making looms.

For restoration use, AMK products has a non adhesive harness tape that is identical to what was used in the 60s-70s on US cars. It is similar but thicker than what Eastwood sells

Thanks for all the feedback guys.

I went ahead and picked up a roll of the Tesa tape and it worked really well when using it last night to install my new light bar.
