Looking for HVAC advice

Hello,

I'm looking for some advice on how to setup the hvac in my building and future building. So I currently have a 36x53 building with 12 ft ceilings. My plan is to build a 14x26x12 garage inside of the original building to store a car or two on a lift. My plan is having the new garage climate controlled (heat/ac for humidity control), but I don’t plan on running ac to the original building since we are in and out of there a lot during the spring/summer. Winter time (Wisconsin) there will not be much for door opening so I don’t mind (as much) having the heat the same as the other building. Also, both buildings will be 3” (R19) spray foam for insulation. Also, we are trying to be somewhat budget friendly...

Any thoughts would be great!

Well, you're going to hear window unit or ductless system. Those are about the only options.

I've installed a few Daikin ductless splits. Run your own load calculations and I'm in the south, but a 12k unit would easily cool it - perhaps be too much with R19 insulation. Ductless systems (inverter) don't have the same cycling issues if over-sized like conventional HVAC - and because of our climate differences you should get a local opinion.

My concern for you is winter. These are heat pump systems (if setup to heat). I don't know of any with aux strips. And looking at a manual, once temperatures hit freezing, they lose capacity to heat very quickly.... You might need an aux heat system. They will not do much heating when it is really cold.
