Looking for ideas for a sump catch basin

I am having an outdoor kitchen put in but it will be below grade. Im looking for a solution for a catch basin/pit that can house a sump pump for the winter time.

I see they sell ones for basements, but the pipes come out the top, which wont work.

Or should i have the contractor put in a concrete pit and find a grate that fits?

Buy one. they have pits with side ports, use Google to search. I built a pit, royal pain in the ***/back, and expensive.

I built a small wine cellar in a low spot in the crawl space under our house. We live on a hillside lot that catches water from uphill properties. In heavy rains, water used to accumulate in the lowest corner so I dug a pit and lined the pit with a clay flue liner. very strong, and will never rot out or collapse like generic plastic pit liners. My pipe comes up and out the top and then up and out through the wall and connects to my downspout drainage piping system. It’s behind a wall so it’s not visible but still accessible for service and inspection.

You could get your hands on one of the proper size and have your guy drill a hole in the side for running your 1.5 inch exit pipe.

BTW, I can’t quite envision an outdoor kitchen being built below grade in an area with no natural slope to allow rainwater to run off. You’re building it in a hole?
I hope you have provisions for emergency power backup during power failures.

They have all kinds of sizes and pump solutions for what you want. Just get a little package plant and plug it in and plumb the discharge line and GTG.
